It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). In 2007 my husband finished his PhD and we made a cross country move from the Appalachian area to the Plains. I still haven’t adjusted to the bitter Canadian wind blasts during the winter. And we bought a house, had a child (with another on the way…)

Since 2007 I have pretty much accomplished the life I love! I have gotten married, bought a house (real fixer upper), graduated college, aquired a pack of animals, and am expecting our first non fur baby in February! Hope the next 4 are just as great!

Since 2007, we’ve moved a few states away, two of our kids have been dx on the autism spectrum, we went from public school to homeschooling (yikes), and we actually went a little “backwards” in the home front, selling to go back to renting! (It just works with our life at the moment.)

In 2007 I was a Freshman in college. It was a pretty anxiety-ridden year with lots of brightly-colored decorations to try and make up for the fact that I had excessive anxiety, a shared space and not a lot of time to appreciate it.
