Since 2007, my life has completely changed – new city, new job and, in 2009, the arrival of my sweet little boy – – which has changed so much about how I view myself, how I like to spend my time and, what kinds of things just don’t matter at all anymore. And, maybe because there’s a relationship between parenthood and nesting, I spend a heck of a lot more time thinking about what kind of environment my home is – some of that decorating, some of that is who I invite in and some of that is what choices we make as family (read: lots of vibrant color, family and good friends, and tons of family dance parties – – lately, the little guy has been loving the b-52s (rock lobster is “the lobster song), talking heads (we recommend “totally nude” as a post-kiddo bath jam), and the surf rockabilly stuff his daddy loves and I am warming to.)
