Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

WEST ME – I’m now a 5th year veteran teacher who is married to an amazing guy, owns an incredible old house, and has her first child on the way – in 2007 I was a frightened first-year teacher who lived in the ghetto and ate ramen all the time! What a difference four years makes!

2007 was a tough year because we found out we couldn’t get pregnant. Now 4 years later thanks to science and technology we have an awesome 2 year old boy. Oh and we moved into an old corner store that was converted to a house that could really use some stylish decor.

I graduated high school in 2007 and if you had told me then that things would be like they are today, I would have never believed you. Since 2007, I’ve finally figured out “what I wanna be when I grow up”, bought my first car, fell in love with my best guy friend, moved in with said love, found out I was pregnant, got married, and now me and the hubs will have a little boy here in a month! It’s been a crazy four years!

In 2007 I found out I was pregnant. And in the same year he was born. My not-so-little-anymore baby will be turning 4 this December. He and I have since moved 2 times and are much happier on our own. We just moved into a new house and are busy trying to make it as much of a home as possible.

Today wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for 4 years ago.

    WEST ME!

4 years ago today I was a young 20 something just trying to figure out things in Manhattan – my sole confidante was my boyfriend of a little over a year and I was fairly certain I’d spend my life with him. Four years, a broken engagement and broken heart (he cheated on me with one of my friends) and months of couch surfing later, I am about to move into a new apartment. New furniture would be a great start and a way to forget he ever sat on that old couch of mine!!
