It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). In 2007 I had just started dating the love of my life, although I didn’t know it yet. We’re now married. I was a junior in college, majoring in print media and minoring in art. I now have my BA and am working in a “big girl” job that I LOVE. And of course I was renting my first apartment, a teeny one bedroom one block from campus. We now own a gorgeous 3 bedroom craftsman bungalow (one block from work) that we are are lovingly bringing back to life after it sat abandoned for 15 years.

Since 2007, I’ve moved every two years for my job – which means – I have an eclectic array of furniture and nick knacks from WAY too may places.
But, one thing has always stayed true – my love for West Elm.
Seriously… I am addicted.
My sister lives in Chicago – and that’s the first place I always want to go when I visit.
Hopefully someday… I’ll be living in one place for longer than 730 days!

Let’s see, 2007 . . . was the year I turned the big 4-0, and honestly, it was kind of awesome. But probably the biggest difference for me between then and now is that then, I was the mom of a third-grader and a 4yo, and now, I’m the mom of a seventh-grader and a third-grader. News bulletin: Puberty still stinks! ;D and oh, how I miss the chubby-cheeked snuggling and smooching of a sweet and sometimes sticky toddler!
You guys do an amazing job of cherishing your everyday with your Bean, but it can’t be reiterated enough: LOVE. IT. ALL. Because it goes way faster than you can even imagine. I’m still reminding myself, because in another four years, I’ll be the mom of an eleventh-grader and a seventh-grader, God willing . . . and God willing, I’ll still have your wonderful blog bringing a smile to my face every day!!
