***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***
It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…
- PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
- TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

Thank you!

Let’s see…in September 2007, I had just quit grad school, was living in MI and looking for a job…4 years later I’ve just quit my job (after 5 positions, 6 desks, 9 managers, but just 1 company), moved to Boston and am looking for work again! I guess in a way things aren’t so different.

Let’s see, since 2007 I’ve changed jobs and am looking to change again (here’s hoping – just had a job interview this morning). Regardless, that $500 would be fun to spend in the soon-to-open Seattle West Elm!

Now, we have two little ones, I sold my business and my husband has a fantastically cool new job…in Seattle! So, instead of decorating a retail store, like I was four years ago, now I’m decorating our new home!

I can’t believe this has all happened in just FOUR years, but here’s the rundown: Got married, had a gorgeous baby girl, had a cutie pie baby boy (yes 2 kids…they are 17 months apart!), moved to Illinois, moved to San Diego, and bought our first house… wow, that seems like a lot when you list it all out like that!
Meg says
WEST ME !!!!
in 2007 I was just 22 years old and living in Brooklyn while working for a tech start up in the city. Four years later, I’ve been to graduate school, lived in Savannah, GA, and taught at undergraduate college level! lots has happened!
I’m currently living outside Princeton, renovating a house with my brother and boyfriend while we start up our own company.

Holy crap, WEST ME! Oh, please, please, west me …
Four years ago, my husband and I were celebrating a year and a half of marriage, I was starting my second year of law school, my husband was working for my pops, and we were living in a mobile home that had seen better days, rented from my father-in-law.
Today, we are brand-new homeowners, still happily married, I’m a lawyer, and he’s a web designer. We feel really blessed to have each other, and to have dads who have more tools and handyman skills than we do. ;-)

It’s easier for me to list what HASN”T changed since 2007! I went from a apartment dwelling, going out every night, carefree single girl to a married, momma of an 11 month old (with another peanut on the way!) homeowner. I wouldn’t change a thing. Well, I would change the fact that I would like to win 500 bucks to spend at one of my FAV stores!
Patricia Gibson says
West Me!
Ohh how many things have changed since dear 2007. First of all we two new additions to our family, a daughther and a son. We bought our first house ever, new job for hubby, and those are just a few things from the new things on the list from 2007.
Kim says

West me, baby!
How is my life different from 2007? Bought a house, bought a car, had several new haircuts, got another cat, switched around a lot of furniture, dug out and pavered the driveway, renovated the garage, killed a few unlucky houseplants, changed my lipstick color.
Holly says
WEST ME! My entire life has changed! Graduated college, got married, moved out from Ohio to NC, and just recently bought a house. 2007 seems like it was forever ago!
Carson says
WEST ME, puh-leeze. Lots has changed in the past 4 years (new city, job, etc.), but – more to the point – my hubs and I just bought a new how and close in a few weeks and my mind is REELING with all of the decorating possibilities. I’ve already amassed a 2-inch stack of paint chips . . .
