It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). West Me! Lots has changed since 2007–got married, had 2 kids, lost our 3 older dogs but just got 2 puppies, got chickens, tons of home improvements and tons more to do, just, lots and lots of stuff! West Me! In 2007 I was living in a very small (1000 sq feet – ACK!), but charming garden home that was a total fixer upper with one child, a huge dog, a handy-ish husband and no money. Fast forward to summer 2008 and we decided we needed a bigger house for our daughter and son who was on the way, and our now two huge dogs. So we bit the bullet and bought a 25 year old plantation inspired fixer upper complete with wrap around front porch and columns! My son was born and 6 months later I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, and all house updating was put on the shoulders of my husband. Needless to say, not much has happened since 2009 to improve the visual appearance of the house. But now that I’m back and healthy and ready to work, things are starting to look great! A West Elm gift card would surely help with making things “pretty” and functional around here!

Oh wow – in 2007, I lived in Michigan. Since then I’ve lived in Colorado and Oklahoma, and am getting ready for a move to Arkansas for 6 months then Mississippi. I had JUST met my now husband, I was studying accounting (I graduated from a different school with a degree in Human Development, and I now am a writer/editor for a wedding blog). Got a dog and a cat in that time. Three cars – 5 houses. A lot is different!

West me! 2007 seems like ages ago! We were childless, eating out at nice restaurants, buying clothes for just ourselves and enjoying our first year of marriage. Oh how times have changed!
