It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Oh 2007. Then, I was a recent college grad living in an attic apartment near a job that I walked to and from each today. Today, I’m married to my college sweetheart, we have a 2 year old son, and we are in the process of beautifying our first home, which we purchased as a foreclosure 6 months ago. Your blog has been a HUGE inspiration to me with regard to that last change!

Life is so different now. If I knew then what i would go through, i might run and hide! Summer of 2007 I had my first internship, after returning from a semester in Rome. Fall of 2007 I was completing a thesis year for my degree in my home town at a different campus, living back at home. By the time I graduated in spring of ’08, my father had passed away unexpectedly, and my mother’s cancer returned. All the stress of that and finishing school almost ruined my relationship with my hs sweetheart.
Now I’m in such a better place. My mom is back in remission, I still have the same wonderful job from my thesis work study, and things are much better with my boyfriend. Looking back, it was tough, but overall I’m in a much better place!
