Fab Freebie: West In Show

***Uh oh – looks like we like we hit capacity on this post with over 10,000 comments! But this giveaway is closed anyways, so I guess it’s okay.***

It’s no secret that we love West Elm (we own two daybeds and a desk among other things from their store). So let’s just say that we’ll be mighty jealous of the person who wins this week’s FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR gift card there (four year blogiversaries are for big prizes, after all). And not that you asked, but if you need any help picking out what to buy – might we suggest some of these lurvely items below (Sherry had trouble picking just six things, so we added an extra row and went with nine):

West Elm Moodboard

Not only is West Elm helping us celebrate four years of blogging, they’re also celebrating the launch of their new blog Front & Main (named for the Brooklyn street corner where their original brick-and-mortar store sits). Front & Main actually officially launches next week, but they’re giving all of us a sneak peek today. Oh and if you scroll down a bit while you’re there, you might recognize some familiar faces…

West Elm Blog

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on THIS OTHER POST with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

WEST ME! In 2007, I graduated from college. Now, I am in the middle of buying my first home and I would definitely put that $500 to good (and much needed) use!

What an awesome give away! In 2007, I was newly married, living in Seattle, working as a new nurse in the ICU. Now 4 years later, we’ve back to my home town, finally have our first house, found our first “fur-baby” at the Humane Society! Oh and the hubs has a job! 2011 has been pretty good to us!

My life is drastically different – I moved 3200 miles away from home – leaving behind my beloved NYC for Seattle – a wedding, 3 new places, a car purchase and a dog later – 2011 is a better place. But I still miss the West Elm store on Front and Main – so close to my old NYC apartment.

My life is a lot different now than it was in 2007. In 2007 I moved from Seattle to Nashville. I got married 5 months ago to a wonderful man who I met in 2008. My job is different (and much better) than the one I had in 2007. I’d say my life is much better than it was 4 years ago!

In the past four years I have gotten married (7/7/07 – natch), bought a house, had a baby boy, had my husband get a new job and had a baby girl. And the year before that, I had gotten my grad degree, a puppy, and my job.

So West Me please because what I have not done is properly accessorize a house!

    WEST ME!

Four years ago was coincidentally the major turning point from the unhappy-post-college-grad version of me into the awesome-I-can-do-anything-because-I’m-an-awesome-adult version of me today.

Living at home with the ‘rents, a job that I hated, waiting for my boyfriend’s condo to sell so we could move to the city, basically a gigantic, terrible holding pattern.

Today though, married to a guy I love, living in a city condo that I love, with a side art business that I (obv) love.

That condo I love could really use some West Elm love, if ya know what I mean…
