Fab Freebie: West In Show (Continued)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well, after a blog-busting (literally) 18,018 entries across two posts (the first one got overloaded after reaching 10,680 entries so we had to start a second one) we finally have one lucky winner in what has become our biggest giveaway to date. In case anyone was worried about how this would all be tallied, we used random.org to generate a random number between 1 and 18,018 and located the comment that correlated with that number across both posts (although you guys can no longer access the comments on the first post, they’re all visible to us in our WordPress dashboard, so we were also able to confirm that our winner did not have any duplicate entries as we always do). So let’s get to the good news: the winner of a $500 West Elm gift card is… CATHERINE (who must be a Richmonder because she, like us, is sad that our local Short Pump West Elm store is no longer open). Congrats Catherine – and happy shopping! Not that we’re jealous. Wait, we are.

Wow, so apparently we hit comment capacity on our big $500 blogiversary giveaway from West Elm. We didn’t even know that could happen! It appears that the original post is too overloaded to accept any more comments, but the ones that were entered will still be counted (so please don’t enter again on this one if you already entered that one or your entries will be invalidated).

We’ve created this post to continue accepting new entries (from folks who didn’t enter the first one) until the giveaway ends at 8pm EST on Wednesday, September 21st OR when this post reaches 10,000 comments, whichever comes first. To recap, we’ve included the entry instructions and details below.

West Elm Moodboard

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!) courtesy of their new blog Front & Main
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

Since 2007 the thing that has most changed is that my babies have grown up :( My youngest was a newborn in ’07 and my oldest turned 2 that year. They are now 4 and 6…growing up too fast.

So much has changed since 2007. In 2007, I had one baby boy…now I have three kiddos (2 boys and a baby girl). We also moved to a new city and I quit my teaching job to be a stay-at-home mom for a few years.

WEST ME – since 2007, I’ve gotten engaged, gotten married, bought a condo, traveled to Costa Rica, traveled to Italy/Switzerland and done a lot of decorating of previously mentioned condo (which is why I am really hoping, though the odds are against me, that I might win this gift card).

I’ve had a lot change in four years. I’ve had one great (and one not-so-great) relationship, taken two trips to Europe and moved into my own apartment where I’ve been happy living with my cat (and I’ve always been a dog person)!

Wow! First off, I love West Elm!! Secondly, this post is so timely. 4 years ago I was writing a thesis, graduating college, getting my first job and apartment, and at the early stages of dating the man who, in 9 months, will become my husband. Today feels different too. I’m at a new job, moving into a new place in a 2 weeks (the just married apartment!!), and looking forward to taking the lessons I’ve learned here with me. Good luck to all!!

2007 was HUGEly different… I was a student, dating a guy who was no good for me. Since then, I dumped him, met a wonderful man, got engaged, graduated, got married, moved to the Big City, got the cutest dog in the world, found my first full-time job, bought a house, started a blog that actually gets readers, and spent 5 months living in reno dust. Whoo. A lot happens in four years!

    West Me!

In 2007 I was digging through the trenches of high school; in 2011 I’m digging through the trenches of college, go figure. I no longer live with my parents. Moving year to year proves to be a tiring and contemplative task. I ask, why do I have so much crap? As I speak I’m back at my parents’ house packing stuff away for Goodwill’s open arms. I’m living – for the first time – with a boyfriend (and his 3 housemates in a three bedroom house). But it’s HIS house, not mine. I don’t have a retreat, a reclusion, a home. I feel like Annie Hall. Maybe this is why people get married. Anywho, I don’t need the stuff from West Elm. But it does look nice and would certainly spruce up the boy house.

Oops forgot the bonus question: Waaay different since 2007… Married my husband in Oct 2007 after knowing him 8 months! Left my brand new oh so perfect suburban house, left my career, moved to an old, old farmhouse. Have since had two babies, lost my mom, caring for my sick dad. Trying to get a home made out of this old house for my new family. No money, no time to do much so I read your blog instead!
