Fab Freebie: West In Show (Continued)

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well, after a blog-busting (literally) 18,018 entries across two posts (the first one got overloaded after reaching 10,680 entries so we had to start a second one) we finally have one lucky winner in what has become our biggest giveaway to date. In case anyone was worried about how this would all be tallied, we used random.org to generate a random number between 1 and 18,018 and located the comment that correlated with that number across both posts (although you guys can no longer access the comments on the first post, they’re all visible to us in our WordPress dashboard, so we were also able to confirm that our winner did not have any duplicate entries as we always do). So let’s get to the good news: the winner of a $500 West Elm gift card is… CATHERINE (who must be a Richmonder because she, like us, is sad that our local Short Pump West Elm store is no longer open). Congrats Catherine – and happy shopping! Not that we’re jealous. Wait, we are.

Wow, so apparently we hit comment capacity on our big $500 blogiversary giveaway from West Elm. We didn’t even know that could happen! It appears that the original post is too overloaded to accept any more comments, but the ones that were entered will still be counted (so please don’t enter again on this one if you already entered that one or your entries will be invalidated).

We’ve created this post to continue accepting new entries (from folks who didn’t enter the first one) until the giveaway ends at 8pm EST on Wednesday, September 21st OR when this post reaches 10,000 comments, whichever comes first. To recap, we’ve included the entry instructions and details below.

West Elm Moodboard

  • PRIZE: A $500 gift card to West Elm (!!) courtesy of their new blog Front & Main
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEST ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …since we’re celebrating starting our blog four years ago, tell us how your world is different than it was in 2007. Do you live in a new place? Have a new job? Are you in a new relationship? Or maybe you just have a new hairdo or tattoo?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of West Elm.

West ME-Children growing up and one will be in high school next year and the other in fifth grade. They were babies before. Caring for my FIL who has Alzheimer’s and is now living with us. My mom used to live with us four years ago. We have adopted some new dogs to share our lives. We are now responsible for renovating my FIL’s 1959 house and get it to code so we can hopefully make some income to off-set medical costs. We attend a new church and have a wonderful church family. We are able to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Crisis Control, Carolina Poodle Rescue and the Rescue Mission on a consistent schedule. My husband has a new job (6th months) after being laid off for 9 months. Yeah!! We are blessed!

    WEST ME!

In 2007, I was a single girl attending college in Texas. Then I met a boy… how things can change! In 2008, we dated despite a two time zone difference. We kept this up in 2009 even though we lived three time zones apart. After many flights back and forth, I moved across the country – DC to WA – in 2010 so we could stop changing time zones. Today, in 2011, we live together in a small (but cozy and cute) place. The time on my watch no longer needs to be changed when I see him. My days are happier because he is near.

In 2007 I was in my second year of undergrad at the ripe ol’ age of 26. I had just moved into an amazing apartment with hardwood floors and found a cheap, gold vintage couch on Craigslist for $10. I am now in grad school in a state on the other side of the country!

Anyway, to answer the bonus question, since 2007 I graduated college, got married, had a child, am pregnant with my second child right now, moved across the country, bought a house, got a couple new tattoos, and hmm, that seems like enough change for 4 years. Hopefully my life is painfully boring for the next 4 years! Is there a prize most change? Oh, who am I kidding, you guys can’t possible read 10,000+ responses! Congrats on making it to year 4!

West me! In 2007 I was starting my junior year in college! Since then I hAve graduated with three degrees (two bachelors and a masters – I blame the economy) and moved 10 times! I went from different places in Florida to South Carolina back to Florida then to Phoenix and I have finally landed in Denver, CO! Little by little I have been furnishing my apartment here with finds at local Goodwill stores, yard sales, the Habitat Outlet, and Ikea with style and project inspiration always found here on this blog! A chance to shop at West Elm would be fantastic!

West me, baby. It’s been a crazy four years: moved to a new state, got a new job and then lost it; tackled un-track-mansioning my house; dealt with losing my mom; watched my daughter become a beautiful first grader who is full of awesomeness; learned all the words to six Glee songs (my daughter loves the show); and changed the color of my bedroom walls three times.
