And the randomly selected person who’s starting their new year off with prize is… Jennifer (who answered this week’s question with a Canadian folk lyric – which I had to look up, mind you: “Lukey’s boat is painted green, Ha, me boys!”). Congrats Jennifer!
Raise your hand if you know what a bathymetric chart is. I didn’t before this giveaway, but it’s basically like a topographic map for what lies underwater. But the more important thing to know is that the married duo behind Below the Boat turns these charts into gorgeous, laser-cut, hand-assembled works of art. They’re beautifully intricate and fascinatingly detailed. And they’ve got lots of bodies of water from the east coast, west coast, and even some lakes in between. One of you is gonna win up to $300 worth of bathymetric chart-y goodnesst this week. So… ahoy!

- PRIZE: Any single framed map up to $300 (or any combination of two maps that add up to $300) from Below The Boat.

Boat me! I love sailing and the quiet that comes with shutting off a motor. My husband’s family owns a house on Blakely Island, so the San Juan Islands map would be perfect for us.
Holly says
BOAT ME!! These are really cool! I grew up on the water and being out on the water is what brings me the most peace in my life. I’m also an urban planner with a background in geology too and so I love the use of bathymetric charts as art!
I have experienced a lot of loss in the last 2 years (father, grandma, and husband) and have often thought how cool it would to just sell everything and live on a boat! Maybe take a year hiatus from all parts of routine life and live on a motor boat of some kind traveling the east coast. Just reconnect with myself and God.
Kim says
Boat me!
A motorboat large enough to go back and forth to Catalina Island! And that’s the same bathymetric art I’d want! Happy New Year YHL!

Boat Me! I love kayaking. We took our twin girl out last summer on sea kayaks (one with me and one with the hubster) and had an absolute blast! They even caught a fish with their bare hands…it was an experience we can’t wait to repeat.

Boat Me!
Ever since me parents and grandparents went on a cruise to Alaska for their 25th and 50th, I’ve wanted to go on a cruise there too.
PK says
BOAT ME!
Anything that floats, as long as it’s in Caribbean Blue water, would be fine with me. I think my first choice would be a power boat that’s taking me to a fabulous snorkeling site.
Celicia says
Boat me! I’d have to say a luxury yacht would be divine!

Amanda says
BOAT ME!!!
Don’t laugh, but I love the MBTA’s boats. They cost $6, have free popcorn, and you can take a nice, hour-long cruise around the harbor, which (even in January) rocks.
Melissa says
BOAT ME!
I’d love to take a cruise! Or sail around the world… with someone who knows what they are doing of course!
Becca says

Holly says
BOAT ME!
Coming from a father who was a boat dealer and marrying my husband who works in the boating industry, I’m embarrassed to say I don’t really care for boats. Maybe it was growing up and working all those boat shows and/or doing inventory on sailboat parts (so. many. itty. bitty. parts.)?
BUT, I wouldn’t say no to a luxury cruise ship vacation to Alaska!
Jeannie says
BOAT ME! A 42 foot Duffy (a down-east lobster boat style) down the inter-coastal waterway all summer with our 2 kids. It’s always been our dream.

BOAT ME! – One of my bucket list items is to sail across the Atlantic someday. I want to be out on open water for a few days on end w/ no visible signs of land.
Kim says
“BOAT ME!”
Luxury cruise all the way!
Rita says
BOAT ME!! A nice sailboat with my boyfriend. We have talked about getting or renting a large sailboat and spending a few weeks out on it :) I would love to win one of these. I make topographic and nautical maps for a living so it would be awesome to hang one of these on the wall!!
Paige Cantle says
Boat me! Luxury cruise. I used to like roughing it in canoes and kayaks, but now that I’m older and (wiser) I prefer a more comfortable adventure!

Kelley says
Boat me! Sail boat!

BOAT ME!
I’m happiest when I’m out on the water! I’d love to learn to sail, but I’d also love to take a cruise (to Alaska! It’s the best way to see the glaciers). But I’m also down for water skiing, canoeing or white water rafting :)
Fatime says
BOAT ME! Sailing in the Mediterranean would be my choice.
Katie @ Domestiphobia.net says
BOAT ME!
I would love to try sailing. And I would love to win this. Coolest. Giveaway. Ever.
Ris says
BOAT ME! I don’t know that I’d love to go out on a boat, but maybe I’d pick one that wasn’t very boat-like? Something that was smooth sailing (pun most definitely intended) so I didn’t feel seasick.
Tabitha says
BOAT ME! I’d take a cruise for sure – any destination would be fine. We never had a honeymoon, so we’d settle for anything after almost 5 years of marriage!
Lindsay says
