This week’s stellar prize comes direct from Home Depot themselves as part of their “What’s Your Pro Project” contest. But the good ol’ HD isn’t just asking about your upcoming heavy duty projects, they’re looking to lend a hand too. Thanks to their 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers, you can borrow over 325 professional tools, from power and hand tools to yard, garden and electrical equipment. Sure beats buying that aerator you only use once a year.
So if you want a shot at the $200 gift card, first check out their selection of tool rentals and then comment on this post with the phrase “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you’d most like to rent].” That’s right, to be eligible for the prize you have to tell us what tool you’d consider renting AND what project you might tackle with it (sorry folks, we’ve gotta be sticklers on this one). For instance, I’ve already been daydreaming about renting a powerwasher to do some heavy duty clean-up on our front porch. Plus, who doesn’t like cleaning and looking like a badass at the same time? If only I could powerwash the dishes…

GOTTA GET A CHAIN SAW. (Or a hedge trimmer, but I didn’t see one of those.) Trimming our boxwoods with pruners/loppers is like trying to shave my husband’s head with scissors. Or else the carpet cleaner… would be nice to have “shiny” clean carpet before the baby comes.

We have a backyard that holds about 75+ trees, which has made growing grass very difficult. AND we have a dog who loves to dig and run around so fast that the ground is all torn up. We would love to build a deck this summer so that we could actually enjoy spending time in our backyard. Obviously a nail gun would really speed up that process, and I imagine we will need an auger to dig the footers. We could use the giftcard to buy the wood!
We have used the tool rental center for many other projects, and it really is convenient!

GOTTA GET – I would rent the carpet cleaner. The upstairs carpet in my home needs a good cleaning. I had the downstairs replaced with bamboo so that is taken care of. The previous owners had a dog, so there is a lot of hair hiding upstairs I am sure and my son has asthma. Thanks.
