I’m not even going to dance around this one: we’ve got a $200 Home Depot gift card up for grabs.
This week’s stellar prize comes direct from Home Depot themselves as part of their “What’s Your Pro Project” contest. But the good ol’ HD isn’t just asking about your upcoming heavy duty projects, they’re looking to lend a hand too. Thanks to their 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers, you can borrow over 325 professional tools, from power and hand tools to yard, garden and electrical equipment. Sure beats buying that aerator you only use once a year.
So if you want a shot at the $200 gift card, first check out their selection of tool rentals and then comment on this post with the phrase “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you’d most like to rent].” That’s right, to be eligible for the prize you have to tell us what tool you’d consider renting AND what project you might tackle with it (sorry folks, we’ve gotta be sticklers on this one). For instance, I’ve already been daydreaming about renting a powerwasher to do some heavy duty clean-up on our front porch. Plus, who doesn’t like cleaning and looking like a badass at the same time? If only I could powerwash the dishes…

We bought our first house- a 1949 ranch cottage with the original wood floors that just need a little TLC in order to shine. I would love to refinish them with HD’s drum sander!

We’ve been dying to break up the 80 year old concrete drive and slab in the back and side yard and plant grass there instead. possible a bocce ball court on the side. My husband might resort to a sledge hammer if i don’t get him one of these! he’s going to break his back doing it that way!

GOTTA GET A… 6.5 HP Pressure Washer! The north side of our house has an green tinge that needs to go! Also a demolition hammer to break up some random concrete. And an aerator. And a rototiller. I better get busy.

GOTTA GET A trencher! I don’t see it on there but I know our local HD has them. We are hoping to tear out a lot of ivy in our front yard, till up the yard, install our own sprinkler system, then lay sod. A LOT of work!!

Also, a cat in the neighborhood recently decided to terrorize our dogs while we were out and the front of our white house is now covered in dirty paw prints. I had no idea cats could jump so high! It was a toss-up between the massive carpet cleaner and the sweet tile saw because both would come in REALLY handy with our new house (the previous owners not only left their “touches” all over, but also their footprints and dirt), but with the tile saw we could rip out all the hideous tile in our master bath and add a new tile backsplash in the kitchen!
