This week’s stellar prize comes direct from Home Depot themselves as part of their “What’s Your Pro Project” contest. But the good ol’ HD isn’t just asking about your upcoming heavy duty projects, they’re looking to lend a hand too. Thanks to their 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers, you can borrow over 325 professional tools, from power and hand tools to yard, garden and electrical equipment. Sure beats buying that aerator you only use once a year.
So if you want a shot at the $200 gift card, first check out their selection of tool rentals and then comment on this post with the phrase “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you’d most like to rent].” That’s right, to be eligible for the prize you have to tell us what tool you’d consider renting AND what project you might tackle with it (sorry folks, we’ve gotta be sticklers on this one). For instance, I’ve already been daydreaming about renting a powerwasher to do some heavy duty clean-up on our front porch. Plus, who doesn’t like cleaning and looking like a badass at the same time? If only I could powerwash the dishes…

The tine tiller! That would make planting my sons’ herb garden in the back yard a breeze. They are 6 and 3 and this is “their” garden. Neither one gets excited about roasted chicken until we let them pick their own rosemary for the dish. Works great with other dishes too! Thanks John and Sherry for another great contest.

GOTTA GET A planer. My boyfriend and I are almost ready to re-install the trim on our 1890’s house. We’d love to run the trim pieces through a planer and re-use them! We’ve gutted the place, installed new electric, insulation and drywall. We’ve painted, and just started installing the hard wood floors. It’s been almost 9 months of home improvement! The planer is on the list for sure! :)

Gotta get 12″ Compound Miter Saw. I am building a coffee table out of an old paneled door and I need to trim the legs and build a frame to attach the top. I also could use it to cut the crown molding I am adding in the master bathroom and to build a fireplace mantle in the master bedroom.

We have a lot of trees that need to be thinned out this spring and my husband is dying to use some power tools. Our backyard has three areas: the forest, the yard and the jungle. A chainsaw would come in handy for the forest and the jungle!

The exterior of our house needs repainting and the quotes are all too high! This would allow us to do it ourselves with the minimum of fuss.
I love the OP’s idea of staining the fence with it too. I hate our moulding wooden fences.

GOTTA GET A Carpet Cleaner and Pressure Washer! We moved into out house in July, hoping to get some hardwood floors soon, unfortunately, we need to update some other areas first.
