I’m not even going to dance around this one: we’ve got a $200 Home Depot gift card up for grabs.
This week’s stellar prize comes direct from Home Depot themselves as part of their “What’s Your Pro Project” contest. But the good ol’ HD isn’t just asking about your upcoming heavy duty projects, they’re looking to lend a hand too. Thanks to their 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers, you can borrow over 325 professional tools, from power and hand tools to yard, garden and electrical equipment. Sure beats buying that aerator you only use once a year.
So if you want a shot at the $200 gift card, first check out their selection of tool rentals and then comment on this post with the phrase “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you’d most like to rent].” That’s right, to be eligible for the prize you have to tell us what tool you’d consider renting AND what project you might tackle with it (sorry folks, we’ve gotta be sticklers on this one). For instance, I’ve already been daydreaming about renting a powerwasher to do some heavy duty clean-up on our front porch. Plus, who doesn’t like cleaning and looking like a badass at the same time? If only I could powerwash the dishes…

Gotta get a tile saw! We are remodeling our downstairs bathroom and kitchen, and this tool will come in handy for both projects! I’m thinking travertine tile in the bathroom, and a lovely tile backsplash in the kitchen.

Gotta Get a Floor Maintainer or the carpet cleaner. Take your pick. Either i need to clean the carpets or redo the hardwoods. With a toddler the floors take a hit everyday.

Gotta get a Rear Tine Tiller. We need to fix our back yard. We have had up to 3 feet of water back there this spring and have to add a few feet of dirt and then level everything out so it doesn’t flood anymore… sound like fun? ((no))

Gotta Get an Electric Breaker & Two Man Hole Digger…we’re breaking up old concrete sidewalk to install and omni stone patio. We’re also replacing our rickety old grape arbor with a new one with a gazebo. Just need the tools to make it happen. :)

1. Hole Digger to put up fence to keep The Bubba from falling in the “grease pit”.
2. Tile Saw for cutting bathroom tile.
3. Floor Stapler for laying over 1200 square feet of flooring ourselves.
4. Drywall lifter to help replace ceiling drywall after not being able to scrape off “popcorn”
5. Finish nailer for putting new trim in a 1600 square foot house. Everywhere.
6. Compound Miter saw for cutting flooring and trim.

Gotta get a pressure washer! My fiance and I just bought a house a month ago and we haven’t slept at all! We refinished the hardwood floors ourselves and painted every single wall and trim. Now it’s time to move to the outdoor projects [especially now that Spring is here]! The pressure washer would help us get rid of the old vine remanents on the side of our house so we could paint it and make it look so lovely!

Gotta get a 20″ Chainsaw!! This could not have come at a better time!!! I arrived home from work yesterday and found my husband covered in dirt and scratches from head to toe. Turns out he spent the day using a tiny hatchet to chop down one of the massively overgrown (i’m talking over 20′ tall) bushes on the side of our house.
