This week’s stellar prize comes direct from Home Depot themselves as part of their “What’s Your Pro Project” contest. But the good ol’ HD isn’t just asking about your upcoming heavy duty projects, they’re looking to lend a hand too. Thanks to their 1,200 local Tool Rental Centers, you can borrow over 325 professional tools, from power and hand tools to yard, garden and electrical equipment. Sure beats buying that aerator you only use once a year.
So if you want a shot at the $200 gift card, first check out their selection of tool rentals and then comment on this post with the phrase “GOTTA GET A [insert name of tool you’d most like to rent].” That’s right, to be eligible for the prize you have to tell us what tool you’d consider renting AND what project you might tackle with it (sorry folks, we’ve gotta be sticklers on this one). For instance, I’ve already been daydreaming about renting a powerwasher to do some heavy duty clean-up on our front porch. Plus, who doesn’t like cleaning and looking like a badass at the same time? If only I could powerwash the dishes…

“GOTTA GET A finish nailer.” I just received the Dewalt Dual Compound Mitre saw with laser for Christmas, but I can’t start my living room moulding project without a finish nailer. I want to add a three quarter wall height panel moulding around the perimeter of my living room and paint it a beautiful cream. I just started moving furniture to the center of the room today. This gift certificate could really make the project get done (and done faster).

GOTTA GET AN AIRLESS PAINT SPRAYER! I’m about to start repainting my living room (including the ceiling) and my office. This would cut the painting time in half, especially since it needs lots of coats of paint (going from a dark color to a light one–nuf said).

Gotta get a Home Depot Dumpster – to haul away the contents of our now gutted kitchen.
The cabinets and fixtures are all sitting in our garage while we cut them down to bite-sized pieces to slowly toss them with our weekly trash pick up. We are trying to avoid a costly dumpster rental as we are taking our time with this kitchen remodel. It sure would be nice to have our garage back again.

Gotta get a paint sprayer! We just moved into a new house and have big plans to sand and paint our kitchen cabinets from the light oak that they are now, to a sweet black. I’m sure we can handle the sanding, but the paint sprayer would make the whole process go a lot quicker I’m sure!
I don’t know if you can have 2 things you want, but we also gotta get a carpet cleaner! Our carpet in our house is not exactly looking it’s best and I would love to get in there and make it look new again!

Gotta get a 4 HP Aerator for the lawn! After I saw what happened with all the heavy machinery the neighbors had in for a pool last year, we know we’d better get some spec’s since we are thinking of one in the future. They are coming next week. After that, I’ll be able to put some beds in for berry bushes and veges. You wouldn’t believe how much produce my toddler can eat! Our turf here is awful; I think they stole all the topsoil when they built the houses, so I’ve got a lot of digging to do.

My boyfriend and I are venturing into gardening this year and have planted 120 containers of tomato, pepper, onion, radish, basil and mint seeds, but we haven’t tilled the area for the garden yet. We’re in the process of sanding off old exterior paint and once we’re done with that a paint sprayer would be HEAVEN to getting the exterior painted.
A pressure washer would sure help with blasting the patio, porches, and long driveway into lookin’ fantastically clean! It could even help with gettin’ some of the old paint off and cleaning out the spaces between the exterior wood siding so we can patch clean areas properly before painting.

Gotta get a midline tiller! Our home came complete with several flower bed, garden areas that are so overgrown and haven’t been taken care of. Having that handy thing available would make the job of preparing them for planting so much easier!
