How excited are we to be giving away a Model One Radio this week? You probably know that our cheery yellow one is one of our favorite things that we’ve bought for our new kitchen (more on that here). Sure it’s been dubbed “the best sounding table radio ever made” by some (MSNBC in this case), but our love for it stems first and foremost from its looks. It’s one good looking radio. But that’s not to say that we don’t crank up the radio (or an iPod playlist thanks to the auxiliary input in the back) and enjoy a family dance party every now and then…

I’ve recently begun timing my morning commute to listen to a local Richmond radio station air what they call “Second Date”. It’s the equivalent of bad reality TV, but on the radio – always entertaining!

Hi!! First off, I absolutely love this blog!! You two are so inspiring! I bought my first house back in August when I was just shy of 24 and needless to say, I need to save money when/where I can. I love what you two do because, like you said yourself, you hardly knew what you were doing when you started so I completely relate. I would love for you to “RADIO ME” because what’s a better accessory to a DIY project then some great music? I have such a wide range of music loves, really whatever I’m in the mood for! Some of my favorites are Dave Matthews, OAR, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, hey even some Drake in there (usually save him for the work outs!)!!! Thank you again, you’re awesome!

Radio me! Every radio in our house is usually tuned to NPR, except for a few programs on other stations I like to catch each week. It’s where I get most of my news during the week (while getting dressed, making dinner, etc.) and I love the weekend morning shows like Car Talk and Wait Wait.

I listen to Pandora Radio usually. I like being able to pick my station (Jack Johnson) and being able to dance a bit while doing chores. Local radio is used mostly for morning laughs (what up Matt and Lindsay?!) and weather warnings (like the tornadoey past weekend). Great giveaway guys!!

Radio Me! The radio (particularly HOT 99.5 in the DC area) gets me through my daily commute. I just got a new smartphone and downloaded the I Heart Radio app so I can listen when not in the car! Would be great to also have a radio to put in the kitchen while I’m cooking.

RADIO ME! In the car I almost never change the radio station from NPR, but at home I am down for a serious pop dance party. I think my neighbors would appreciate it if we put a radio in the kitchen so I wouldn’t have to turn the stereo all the way up to facilitate dance-cooking.
