How excited are we to be giving away a Model One Radio this week? You probably know that our cheery yellow one is one of our favorite things that we’ve bought for our new kitchen (more on that here). Sure it’s been dubbed “the best sounding table radio ever made” by some (MSNBC in this case), but our love for it stems first and foremost from its looks. It’s one good looking radio. But that’s not to say that we don’t crank up the radio (or an iPod playlist thanks to the auxiliary input in the back) and enjoy a family dance party every now and then…

Our house is a music house– he listens to sports and music in the a.m., which wakes me up, I blast top 40 and sing along in the shower… we listen when we cook, we have impromptu dance parties with each other, solo, and our godkids. We’re “that” couple belting out tunes as we drive to work. And our kitchen radio just died. After 9 years of blissful service. :(

I lately have been focused on my iTunes playlists for both calm and power music to try and get in the mental place for laboring Baby #2 (who was due yesterday…would he hurry up already?!), but I sometimes just want to hear what’s new on the radio! I like country, but we typically listen to the local Christian stations since we like to learn new worship songs and enjoy fewer commercials on those stations!
And my husband and I do really like to try to keep up with “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” on NPR for humorous takes on the weeks’ headlines which just depress us with all the seriousness on the morning news shows sometimes!
