    I’M BOLD!

In HS, my hair was so long, it was almost down to my booty. I chopped it all off to a 3″ pixie cut. The poor stylis – I cried for two hours after she had cut it. It ended up being stinkin’ adorable, but it was such a shock at first!!

When my husband and I first started dating, I had fairly long hair. He thought I would be cute with short hair, so on a whim I allowed him to take matters into his own (untrained!) hands. He bought a pair of clippers and gave me his version of a super-short pixie cut. That was the shortest my hair had ever been. I cried then, mostly out of shock. After ten years and many inches of grown-out hair, I am able to laugh at this memory and appreciate the boldness initiated by young love!

In high school I was painfully shy. After putting up with classmates making fun of me all year long (9th grade) I grew tired of the teasing. I yelled at them, in the middle of class, and told them I was sick of being teased and that I didn’t want to hear it anymore. They never teased me again. They probably thought I’d had a psychotic break. ;)

All of my world travels have been done via last minute invites! My first experience was a last minute decision to participate in a study abroad program in Australia. My second last minute travel decision was when my mother and aunt invited me along with them to a European vacation when their other sister had to back out. Both decisions were scary, exciting and expensive, but totally worth it!

I’M BOLD: hubby and I bought our house seconds after touring it. Put in an offer, little bit o haggling, then it was ours. No sleeping on it, no thinking about it. We just went for it! And a year and a half later, no regrets. Woot.
P.S. The house had us moving to another city – another quickly made decision!

    I’M BOLD!

I once sang the National Anthem at a high school basketball game when I was 25 – the opposing team was stuck in traffic, scooting game time back by about 30 minutes. The high school choir soloist set to sing right before tip-off was made late for a first date with a guy she’d been crushing on over 2 years, I came to find out. So, I told her I’d sing it. She left – and there ya go.

I’d never sung a solo in my life. National Anthem in front of a few hundred people I’d never see again – whatev.
