This week’s giveaway comes from a site that so chock full o’ good stuff that it was a challenge to hone in on the perfect freebie items for this week. We’re talking about Artful Home, a virtual window into over a thousand artists’ studios that gives you access to 12,000+ original art pieces – from wall art and sculpture to furniture and accessories. It’s kinda like Etsy, but contributing artists are all professionals who are selected by a panel of art adjudicators.
So we sifted through the site and fell in love with several pillows and, since we couldn’t settle on just one, we’re letting this week’s lucky winner choose from the four pillows shown below: the nature-inspired linen pillows by Mariah Wren or the graphic, eye-chart pillow by Heather Lins. I know, tough decision, eh?

my favorite piece of art is a tie between a poster my husband got at a wine auction in Santa Barbara (cute girl in vintage swim suit, sipping a glass of wine) OR a Chinese wall hanging that we picked up on our travels there in 2006. Both pieces need to be reframed but they do for now.

I work at the Smithsonian and my husband is a postdoc. Needless to say, we both adore art, but have very little money to buy art (or do much else than pay the bills). But when we first moved in together, we did get a beautiful early abstract painting from my parents from their attic, by their friend Madison Cawein. The white and blue colors are so calming above our bed and just set the mood for sleep and relaxation. We just found out recently that his paintings are also mundo valuable. What luck!

I heart art and my favorite piece of artwork in my home right now is a pencil drawing of my kids (ages 12 and 10 at the time) that my hubs had done on a trip to Thailand. It’s beautiful!

My favorite art right now is the piece I made for my husband for our first wedding anniversary, a framed print of our wedding vows.

I HEART ART! My favorite piece of art in our home is a candle stick that my husband made for our unity candle for our wedding. It’s made of a really beautiful oak and it sits on our mantel still holding our unity candle (though sometimes I switch out the candle depending on the season).

right now my favorite piece is the antique steel tri-cone guitar that my boyfriend has hanging on his wall. the tri-cone is the precursor to the electric guitar. his is out of commission at the moment, but the designs in the metal (like silver) are so intricate and industrial looking. pretty cool!

My favorite piece(s) of art in our home are the ones my brother has done for me. He is a recent college grad and art major and is just amazing! He has recently started doing some funky things on objects, and my personal favorite that I own is a record he painted just for me.
