This week’s giveaway comes from a site that so chock full o’ good stuff that it was a challenge to hone in on the perfect freebie items for this week. We’re talking about Artful Home, a virtual window into over a thousand artists’ studios that gives you access to 12,000+ original art pieces – from wall art and sculpture to furniture and accessories. It’s kinda like Etsy, but contributing artists are all professionals who are selected by a panel of art adjudicators.
So we sifted through the site and fell in love with several pillows and, since we couldn’t settle on just one, we’re letting this week’s lucky winner choose from the four pillows shown below: the nature-inspired linen pillows by Mariah Wren or the graphic, eye-chart pillow by Heather Lins. I know, tough decision, eh?

I heart art! To be fair, I have to say that each of my sons have art they have produced that I will cherish forever. My oldest (16 yrs.) has a rather large self portrait he did in kindergarten. My youngest (13 yrs.) has a cute oil crayon drawing of a toucan he did when he was in 2nd grade.

I HEART ART! My favourite piece is an oil painting that used to hang in my great grandmother’s home of women doing laundry. I love hanging my own laundry out to dry and it reminds me of a favourite pastime and a favourite grandmother.

The art I love the most is a framed photograph a friend took in Paris of “The Winged Victory” at the Louvre. I studied art in school and now teach elementary art and “The Winged Victory” is by far my favorite.

WE have 2 pieces that I love and they were painted by a very good friend of ours. One we purchased and one was a gift to my boyfriend, the painting is a print on canvas and it is a painting from a photo or my boyfriend, the artist and 3 of their other friends walking to the beach in Costa Rica. My favorite piece of art in my house actually belongs to my roommate. It is a pencil drawn tree that looks like it is made of nothing but lines, some thicker than others, but all about equally spaced. It’s branches are bare and look like they could reach out and grab you like in The Wizard of Oz. The print is mostly white and we have it in a black frame.

My favourite piece of art is a framed poster from the Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour a few years ago. I got it framed with my ticket and a 45 record. It is a black frame, double mat – black with a stripe of orange. Love it!

He painted and then gave me for college graduation a scene out of his “God, Devil and the Monkey” college paper comic strip. God, Devil and the Monkey stranded on an island – my favorite piece now hangs in my little tropical hideaway room.

I heart art!! My daughter made me the prettiest Mothers day card when she was about 5 years old. It is hearts made out of tissue paper. I put it in a frame and put it on my nightstand. Its been there for about 10 years now.
