Fab Freebie: Straight From The Art

This week’s giveaway comes from a site that so chock full o’ good stuff that it was a challenge to hone in on the perfect freebie items for this week. We’re talking about Artful Home, a virtual window into over a thousand artists’ studios that gives you access to 12,000+ original art pieces – from wall art and sculpture to furniture and accessories. It’s kinda like Etsy, but contributing artists are all professionals who are selected by a panel of art adjudicators.

So we sifted through the site and fell in love with several pillows and, since we couldn’t settle on just one, we’re letting this week’s lucky winner choose from the four pillows shown below: the nature-inspired linen pillows by Mariah Wren or the graphic, eye-chart pillow by Heather Lins. I know, tough decision, eh?

    I HEART ART! I have this awesome drawing of the city I live in that was created in 1969 (artist’s signature and date). If you look too close, it looks like a bunch of random lines. But when you stand back, the landmarks that were here at that time are easily visible. Best part – found it at Goodwill (professionally framed, no less!!!) for $6.

    My in-laws gave us a gorgeous painting of a Lighthouse in the Outer Banks, NC. We vacation with them there over Christmas, and it is such a lovely reminder of our time spent with them every time I look at it!

    I HEART ART =) our favorite piece of art currently is a picture of two coffee mugs (we are a couple of lovers who love coffee =)) A friend took the picture, I love her use of bold primary colors.

    My favorite piece of art is actualy a rorschach-y ink. I don’t know what it means but I see but a goldfish and a horned cow in it!

    My favorite pieces of art are my Tiffany and Co. Frank Gehry vase (I count this hah) and my Jason Hill framed photo of our favorite Arizona dive bar :)

    My favorite piece of art we have is an original painting from our best man in our wedding. We made our whole living room work around that piece so that it would be the center of attention!

    My favorite piece of art is a small canvas painting my fiance and I got as a gift from our friend Josh, who is an amazing artist. It doesn’t match anything in our home, but we’re finding ways to make it fit in with our design scheme!

    My favorite is a painting I bought for Elliot for graduation, that I got at Arts in the Park. It’s an abstacttion of a bass (the instrument, not the fish) that is so full of life! It’s marvelous.

    My favorite piece is a painting my grandmother bought 20 years ago in Mexico. The artist drew on a tree skin. Beautiful and colorful birds, you have to see it to believe it! Amazing!

    “I HEART ART!” My favorite piece of art is an old aerial photo of Portland, OR (my hometown) that my husband got me for my birthday. Makes me think of home every time I look at it. :)

    I HEART ART!! Right now my favorite piece of art in the house is a picture taken by my sister from her house in Eleuthera. A view of white sand beach and turquoise water and no one at all around.Beautiful. Any time I get stressed out I look at it and picture myself there enjoying it all, and instantly feel better!

    I HEART ART! My favorite “piece” of art…we painted one wall with black chalkboard paint and my kids draw on it daily. I am constantly taking photos of their creations…before they erase them and begin again.

    I heart art. Right now, my favorite piece of “art” in my home is a small photo of my husband and i at our wedding, shot from behind of us sitting and holding hands, in a poster sized frame with a large white mat. i absolutely love it.

    “I HEART ART”!! My favorite art pieces in my house are two paintings done by my Grandma when she was in art school in the 1930’s – the best part is she used both sides of the canvas, fully clothed subjects on the front, and nude subjects on the back… a little secret on my wall that only I know about! :)
