Best deal ever – an red chinese antique wedding cabinet I’d been stalking for months. Saved $300 by waiting for a sale and then doing some fast talking. Makes me happy every time I see it!

I just bought a new gas range for my kitchen and scored $300 off through negotiation at the store and another 20% off at delivery because of a small dent on the side (hidden by the cabinets).

One of my best scores was a queen-sized Ralph Lauren comforter for $28! On the non-home related front, I just bought two shirts, a scarf, seven pairs of socks, a kid’s down vest, a kid’s fleece jacket and fleece pants at Old Navy for a whopping $19.48! Cha-ching!

I snagged some lovely bamboo blinds at HD during
a bathroom redo. They were on clearance but not
marked with a price. A quick check on the computer
indicated the price was…wait for it….one cent!
The cashier didn’t even bother ringing them up so
I took them home for FREE! =]

I am well-known to my friends and family as a bargain hunter…I never like to pay full price!

One of my most recent deals was a $450 Tahari dress that I scored for $19 at Filene’s Basement.

    I love bargains! :)

In the past month I must admit that my husband and I have been very lucky scoring furniture deals. We were in the market for a new sofa & love seat. However, thanks to my cousins who just bought a themselves a new living room set, we now have their old set which still have a lot of life in them. Also my uncle bought himself a new TV and gave us his old 36′ flat screen 720P which replaced our very old bubble 36′ TV.

We still like to get new furniture and TV’s but for now we are good and very grateful! Thank goodness for family and hand me downs. ;)

Definitely our home. We managed to buy our house for a considerable amount less than what the owner was asking. They’d had quite a few offers, but something would go wrong each time (financing would fall through etc.) so when the owners met us (rather… met our adorable then one year old daughter) they were smitten. After all was said and done we purchased our home for $30,000 less than their original asking price.

I never shop without of a coupon or sale, so mostly everything is a deal. But last year, I got a pair of boots for 75% off plus a coupon, they cost me a whopping, $19! The best part- the tons of compliments I get when I wear them!

I’m haute! The best deal I can think of would be buying our entire living room set for $1500 off of Craigslist. It included a couch, loveseat, oversized chair with ottoman, area rug, coffee table, side table, three nesting tables, wall shelves, a floor shelf, a tv stand, a desk, and even lamps! We bought it from a couple who had recently gotten married and had two fully furnishes houses so they were needing to get rid of one set of furniture to make room for a baby they were expecting. We were happy to take such nice furniture off their hands for so cheap!

I’m the queen of Craiglist and Goodwill and thrift store finds. I’ve gotten such cute things for under $50 – like a huge coffee table that just needs a little refinishing and some new handles. Then there’s my adorable telephone bench for $40, that I refinished and reupholstered.

Although it’s not house related, I once got a pair of shoes that were marked half off. I loved them and their amazing color and took them to the register. The lady looked at me with confused face and said they weren’t supposed to be on sale. But since they were marked down, they had to give them to me for the discounted price! YAY! I went back to the same store a few hours later, and the shoes were no longer on sale. Oh lucky day!

The best deal I have ever scored was Land of Nod bedroom sets for my twin boys (two storage beds, two night stands and two wide dressers). I got them on sale, one week later the pieces were discounted even more, so they did price adjustment, some pieces had little marks here and there(not noticeable from the outside), so they gave me 20% off of those after I complained. After all that my total cost was a little over $900 (including shipping) for what would have been around $3000 purchase at full price. 3 years later I am still excited about it :)!

    “I’m Haute!”

My proudest trading moment follows: About a year ago, my friend and I went to dinner. When the waiter came around with the check and his pen, my friend said, “My friend has a terrible habit of stealing pens.” This is true. And when I took the pen from his hand I noticed it was a Mont Blanc. Trying to contain my excitement, I told the waiter he could have his pick of any pen in my bag (which totalled about 10) if I could have his pen. He told me that a customer had left his pen behind and he could really care less about it. He took a pen I got for free at a hotel and I made off with a $350 dollar beauty. Bliss!
