Fab Freebie: So Haute In Here

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Who doesn’t love a sale? Especially when it’s to the tune of 50-75% off retail. Well that’s exactly how HauteLook rolls when it comes to creating 48-hour deeply discounted sales on home items (as well as clothing and beauty stuff too). A new sale pops up every morning at 11am EST, but here’s a sampling of what was up for grabs last week:

Hautelook Tiles

And one of you is gonna get $100 to spend on HauteLook this week, meaning you could snag items like an $850 graphic rug for just 80 bucks out of your own pocket. Not too shabby…

Hautelook Rugs

Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: $100 towards anything on HauteLook.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M HAUTE” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about the all-time best deal you’ve ever scored. Was it an incredible sale that landed you a deep discount? Or maybe you bartered your way to something for free?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 20th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

This giveaway’s random winner is… Valerie J (who’s scored a $4000 Restoration Hardware armoire for only $315 just because the top crown molding was busted). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from HauteLook.

    “I’M HAUTE!!!”

The all-time best deal I’ve ever scored… hmmm… that’s a toughie! Probably one of my many Coach purses. I got extremely good at finding them at a discount during my purse phase. For one of them (a tote, not a purse, actually) I found it at the end of the season marked down to about 50% off, PLUS there was a huge sale going on at Bloomie’s so there was more off of that, PLUS I had an extra super VIP discount coupon through my office that worked even on sale and designer items, so I got even MORE off the already twice-discounted price. I was shocked; I had fully expected this particular bag to sell out during the regular season, and had already resigned myself to the likely reality of unconsummated bag lust… but nope, I snagged it! It was originally over $300 and I got it for around $100, maybe less. :) It was a great buy too, I use it all the time.

I’m Haute…and the best deal I ever scored was on this fabulously soft robe at JCPenney that I got for only 15 CENTS! I used some awesome coupons and it was during tax free week. It’s not really home-related, but definitely the best (and softest) deal ever!!!

My hubby and I own a kids consignment shop, so I’m lucky to get first dibs on the best stuff our consignors bring in. One of our best scores was a sweet wooden play kitchen that would have been $200 new, but I got it for 1/4 that price.

I’m HAUTE! ONE of the best deals I ever scored (I am quite the bargain hunter) was when I purchased deeply discounted Crate and Barrel gift cards off of Craigslist and used them, along with our 10% off registry fulfillment coupon, to buy up the rest of our C&B wedding registry!

The best deals I’ve scored are all courtesy of Craigslist, which is especially popular in the Bay Area. Just yesterday I got two FREE perfectly fitting pairs of shoes.

I’m Haute about deals in general but my latest was spending $23 on $89 worth of groceries. It’s all in part to a great lady named Carrie that has a website from my area, Minneapolis, MN. She looks through ads, coupons – paper & online and tells you what’s the best “rock bottom” price for goods and services in our area. I love it. My family saves money every month on groceries. It’s more than clipping a 50 cent coupon, it’s about taken that coupon, doubling to a sale item and then possible adding a retail coupon to it.
