I’m Haute! Got an old school table, 4 school chairs and a great 70’s blue velvet chair for free! A nice family was needing to scale down and was eager to pass it on to a new family! :)

Over the years I have scored many a good deal, clothing 90% off, garage sale screaming deals, a bed for 30.00, etc. Now, I wish I could find those deals again! I just don’t seem to be at the right place at the right time. I love a good bargain, and with our budget tighter than ever thanks to two mortgages and a baby on the way, I could USE a good one too!

I’m Haute!!! I know this is not a home-related deal but I’m so very proud of this deal. I got a Burberry trench coat for…what for it…$210!!!! (that’s with tax!) I got it at Woodbury Commons Outlet in NY, a.k.a. shangri-la! I got it for that low because it was at the Burberry outlet, that particular coat was on sale, and there was a store-wide discount that day! Oh happy day!

I’m HAUTE! and so ready to win anything!! My best buy so far was 2 beautiful side lamps from Pier 1 Imports, they looked just like ones we had seen at Restoration Hardware and since they were the floor samples we got them for $50 each, which compared to the $300 and something price on the other ones, these were a steal!

Your timing is perfect on this Q… which means I’m feeling lucky! A Pathmark by my house went out of business last week. My husband did an excellent job of stalking it to see how the percentage off increased daily. On the final day, all products were around 80% off… We filled our cart with the ignored healthy products that we LOVE (ie- Amy’s Organics, Morning Star, Boca, ect). Our items were valued at $84, came to $17 with the discount, and because we were there 15 minutes before they shut their doors forever, they marked it down to $4.41. We took pictures so we’d always remember that day. Best deal of our lives!!

    Thanks!

    I’M HAUTE!

When my husband and I first bought our 50’s rancher I immediately went on the hunt for a formica/metal table and chairs for the dining room. I searched all over town and couldn’t find anything for less than $100. I almost broke down and paid too much $$, but luckily I held off b/c I found the PERFECT set on ebay for $75! It was the exact color yellow I was looking for and it included all 4 chairs and a leaf. Because the seller was in a small town in TN and listed the table as pick-up only, there weren’t many bidders to fight over it (I live about 40 minutes away). I ended up snagging it for about $120!

    I’m haute!

My husband (then boyfriend) dumpster-dove a perfectly good IKEA loveseat. Then when we got married, and found ourselves with too much furniture, I sold it on Craigslist for $75. (Retail without five years wear and tear: $200) He felt so guilty about the whole thing that he wouldn’t look the buyers in the eye, and insisted on helping them load it into their van.

I’m pregnant and really, really wanted a cozy rocker for our room, but cringed at the thought of spending $1000+ at Pottery Barn or Land of Nod. I stalked Craigslist, and found my dream PB rocker in perfect condition for only $200. That was a win in my book!

“I’M HAUTE” because I once scored a $225 Burberry belt at Nordstrom’s “Last Chance” (only in Phoenix; sorry, folks) for $5. It was WAY too big, so I had to adjust it a little, but it’s a perfect fit now and I get compliments on it every time I wear it.

I’m Haute and I’m not sure what the greatest deal was. Most of the deals I get are smaller (because most of the stuff I buy is cheaper :-) but I love it when I get it all free. Or once the cashier at walgreen had to hand me a nickle. She was very confused and I loved it!

I need to brag a little about this one. I got a dress from Banana for 96% off. Yes. I paid only FOUR PERCENT of the original price. The item in question was already on sale, plus it was a weekend where sale items were an additional 30% off, and THEN we had earned some sort of coupon that was good on anything–including sale items! I don’t remember the exact prices, but I do remember crunching the numbers and getting the 4% figure.

I still get all giddy about it.

I’M HAUTE. My father-in-law was a superintendent for a developer and when they were selling the model home we got to purchase everything (I mean EVERYTHING) down to the napkin rings in the house that we wanted for $500. We got 2 full living room sets (including lamps and end tables), linens, carpets, frames, kids playroom furnishings (we didn’t even have kids — gave ’em to my niece), paintings, etc. We were settling on our first home 3 weeks later and we scored HUGE. We’re still using most of the furniture (it had been BRAND new in the model home). LOVES it!! :-)

This isn’t really a long lasting purchase, but we went on vacation last week and I scored a rental house at a fraction of the price a stinky hotel would have cost us. It was so cheap to stay there I feel like I was stealing something AND it was adorable!! We got to cook most of our own meals (which I prefer) and enjoy an adorable quiet little cottage for mere pennies. YAY!!
