The best deal I ever scored was for our new mattress. They wanted us to pay a delivery fee, pay sales tax, pay for a bed frame, pay extra for split box springs. I said I would walk out if I had to pay more than just the cost of the mattress…as I was on my way out the door…they came around! I felt like I’d won the lottery! :P

I’m Haute!!! I found an amazing complete solid wood bedroom furniture set (headboard, chest, dresser, one end table) at a furniture close out sale and they sold it to me for $1200 and threw in a second end table – it was originally over $3000! That was one of our best deals!

I booked the photographer (an old acquaintance from high school) before she became pretty darn popular — and ended up getting the $1,600 package for $500, just thanks to timing and her kind heart! The pics were INCREDIBLE, too.

I found a pair of Lucky Brand jeans in my middle daughter’s size at a FULL PRICE department store. They were originally close to $200 but had been discounted (and discounted) to $21.99. Needless to say, I had them in my hands before you could say Lucky Brand. Then, when I went to check out, they rang up at $11.00!!!! We were BOTH very happy ladies that day!

oh man so many good deals…so little time. some of the latest and greatest have to be the $250 Kitchenaid mixer we got on clearance for $62(a wedding gift for a friend), and the 6×8 rug normally $120 at target but on clearance for $32 (for my dining room)! we are constantly checking the end caps at target for clearance stuff, oh i almost forgot about the 2 outdoor club chairs we snagged when they were closing their garden center (so sad) for $45 each instead of the $200 original price tag.
Thanks to both of you for always encouraging us to shop around for what you love and see how you can achieve a designer look for lots less.
PS- because of you I am now a spray paint-o-holic, did a coffee table to copy yours ;) and a round mirror that was horribly forest green now glossy white.

I scored a beautifully upholstered antique chair from a really cool 2nd hand store in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood for only 90 bucks! I couldn’t fit it in my car so I had to call a friend and demand she meet me there immediately because there was no way I could let that chair go! :)

I scored a gorgeous 1947 Philco radio/phonograph from my parents. They were going to sell it but I finally convinced them to give it to me instead. They used to listen to European short wave radio when they were first married and it seemed too sentimental to let go of. My dad bought it from my grandfather for $25 back in the 1970s. One day I’ll have it rewired for safety, but it does work! It’s definitely the conversation piece in our dining room.
