I’M HAUTE… One of my passions in life is looking for good deals. There’s just something about the thrill of the hunt. One of my most recent favorite scores was finding this old white apothecary cabinet, a smaller version of those ones they sell at anthropologie (for thousands of dollars) for only $15 at an estate sale…15 dollars!!

I’m also cheap, so I love any deal I can get. I would love an area rug for our hardwood floors. Haven’t had the best luck finding a deal for a rug yet.

“I’m Haute!” The best deal I’ve gotten was the super cute end table I found on the side of the road last week. With some leftover paint I had laying around, it was totally free, and was exactly what my living room needed. Although, we could use a new rug :)

The best deal we’ve scored probably doesn’t sound like much of a great deal, but it was to us: We found a dark-wood modern console table that perfectly matches our dining room table, for $30. We snatched it right up!

Best deal ever was on my bread-maker that I use at least once a week (it makes great pizza dough). I found it at a garage sale – it had never been used and was still wrapped in the original box. The woman having the sale had gotten it as a wedding present five years ago and didn’t even know what it was! I asked her how much she wanted for it, and she said, “I don’t know, ten dollars?” It was worth about $200 retail!

The best deal I ever scored was on some AMAZING green damask home decor fabric. It was originally $30 a yard, which I would have paid in a heartbeat. At this certain store, it was marked to 9.99 a yard, and then every clearance item was half off! I got a swatch to take home and match, then returned the next day to buy 8 yards of it to make some great curtains. To my wonderful surprise, it was 75% off, making it a steal at $2.50 a yard! I paid more for the liner fabric than the designer fabric itself! Score of a lifetime!

They best deal I ever scored was finding my husband. His dad owns his own HVAC biz and used to work as a contractor and plumber and builds cabinets on the side. My hubby always helped him growing up so we get all the big expenses around the house down ourselves or with the help of my father-in-law for next to nothing – custom built-in fireplace surround ($500 for supplies), add a half bath ($400 for supplies) Got to love connections!

Best deal ever for me was by following the advice of the caterer for our wedding when looking for a florist. He gave me this woman’s name and number and said, “she can do anything the big guys do at half the cost.” And he was so right…her shop is a bit run down and in a lower end neighborhood, but her work is amazing!

    Best deal, let’s see…

$1,300 for a 37″ (perfect size for the space!), wall mountable plasma TV (5 years ago).

$200 for 7 Pink KitchenAid stand mixers. I ordered one but they kept sending more. Finally, when the last one arrived, they told me to keep it! So I actually got two for $200 – one for me and one I sent to my sister!!

I’M HAUTE! I love good deals and always am scoring clothes for my children on the 75% off rack. Best deal I ever got though was when I was in college, I went to buy a small dining table at Target. Regular price was $350.00. It rang up for $29.99!!!! I told the cashier that I didn’t think that was the right price and she should probably check with someone in that department. She said that it had to be the right price because everything always rings up right. So in disbelief I said, “you don’t want to check?” She said, “no”. So I swiped my debit card, got my receipt and left. I did feel bad, but I figured that if the cashier wouldn’t do a price check, I would have to take it for that price!
