I am also VERY thrifty. I don’t even look at buying items unless they are on sale or secondhand. Although it annoys my husband greatly, I would much rather search for a sale & save our hard earned money for our kiddos education or our retirement.

I’M HAUTE I’m a bargain hunter by nature, so it’s hard to choose the one best ever deal, but if I have to pick…A few years back, I popped into Michael’s in late January and was picking through the Christmas clearance, when the manager announced that anything from Christmas clearance that we could fit into a handheld red basket would be $1. For the Whole Basket. I left there with 7 full large bags of garlands, picks, wrap for $2.16.

I’M HAUTE…Well I can’t honestly say if this was the best all-time deal because I could be forgetting something, but just this past Saturday night, my husband and I were wandering through Pottery Barn and spotted an AS IS dining table for sale for $350. Still a bit of money (but it was about 70% off the original price), and the table seats 8-12 because there are two leaves that come with it. So much bigger than our current 6-seater. And it’s beautiful! Can’t wait for our first real dinner party! :)

It’s hard to think of the best deal I scored, because I LOVE a good deal. However, the one that comes to mind first was the day of coordinators for our wedding. We found out about them from another blog because they were offering half price services for a limited period of time. We saved a ton of money and had great DOC’s for the wedding!!

I think our best deal to date would be our patio furniture. We scored a huge glass table to seat six, a smaller glass table for two, a side glass table, 8 chairs, umbrella and stand for $500. All of which helped to fill our empty patio!

I heat my water shed with a unit called a monitor (very efficient, oil fired, heat source). They can cost upwards of $1500 and it gets a little spendy when they need to be repaired or replaced. Unfortunately, the original monitor went out when we hit a low of 40 below zero. Amazingly enough, I was able to find a barely used unit at a local store for $400. What a relief!!

I’M HAUTE…I found a pair Diane Von Furstenburg heels at TJMaxx for 85% off! They are honestly the most comfortable pair of heels I have ever worn and I rocked them that very weekend at a wedding. I doubt I’ll ever be able to really test my theory that those insanely expensive shoes HAVE to be more comfortable for people to shell out that kind of moolah – but at least I have one pair to prove me right :)
