A change in our health insurance deductibles & a new wellness program at work has had me signing up for a lot of things. First, I was sad to give up my membership at the YMCA because I like that they are open super early in the morning. The time at the Y doesn’t count towards the wellness program. So … on to signups:
1) Commit to the wellness program. 75 points a year gets your deductibles halved. 150 points (max allowed) gets you a bonus check equal to your deductible (so, zero deductible if you get max points).
2) Sign the non-smoker contract. 10 points!
3) Have a health risk assessment done (Sept 16). 40 points!
4) Recliner to 5K … walk or run (Sept 6). 10 points!
5) Domestic violence education fair (Sept 30). 10 points!
6) Employee health fair (Oct 7). 10 points!
7) Pooch to 2K … a group dog walk … YIKES! (Oct 15). 10 points!
Just over a month into the program & I’ll have 90 points.

I, too, am signing up for no more natural disasters. We lost our house to a flood in June and my heart goes out to all the people dealing with the damages left behind from the hurricane. It is truly heart wrenching how a person’s life can change in a matter of moments when a natural disaster strikes.
