Fab Freebie: Sharing The Love

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below! ***

Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!

As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!

Joss Main Giveaway

  • PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

I shared a bedroom with my sister nearly my entire childhood while our younger brother always had his own room. I was very jealous of him and desperately wanted my own room! Wouldn’t ya know that every night, our little brother would end up climbing in bed with us?

For my birthday year, my best friend knew I hadn’t planned on doing much (with a 6 month old), so she came to visit and planned a whole baby/mom/bff day! It was one of the best things anyone has ever done for me.

i shared a bed with my husband’s sister practically the second time i met her. we were out of town for my husband’s godson’s christening, and there was only one bed to be had. needless to say, we became fast friends long before we were sisters-in-law. :)

My worst sharing story happen at work. We have an annual sales meeting and one year my “normal” roommate was not attending the meeting, so I got paired up randomly with a girl I didn’t know. Upon meeting her for the first time in the room, she says hello, and then states plainly that she sleeps naked and asks me if I mind. “Actually I do mind”, I said. “Could you just wear clothes to bed for the 3 days we are here?” She was really annoyed for the rest of the trip. It was pretty weird but made for a great story!

Since I am an only child, my first sharing experience came when I went to college and had a roommate in the dorm. There were some growing pains, but it was a good thing to have experienced.

I think you should definitely share this $400 credit with me, though. I will share pictures of what I buy with you!

SHARE ME… my parents felt strongly that sibling rivalry was unacceptable. My brother and I learned early on that as long as we shared nicely and didn’t fight we could get away with just about anything else. Unfortunately for my folks, this taught us to team up against them at an early age.

This time of year always reminds of me the Easter when my bother and I (4 and 6 years old) took all the plastic grass out of our Easter baskets and threw it up into the moving ceiling fans in our playroom. We got in a LOT of trouble for that mess!

Just waiting for a day when I have some extra money (and someone in line behind me) to pay it forward. :)

When I was in 7th grade my mom got a job as a programmer at WDW. We moved down there, but there were not many places to live at the time. We bought an RV. So, for the next year and a half, I lived in a 28 foot RV with my mom. Talk about sharing space! (We still laugh about some of the teenage stories!)

I had to share the room with 100 alarm clocks every morning. Collage was fun, but I am gratefully I don’t have to share my bedroom now with anyone besides my husband!

As a newlywed I thought it was fantastic that the hubs left the door to the bathroom unlocked while he showered:)Imagine me in the kitchen smiling to myself as I cheerfully filled a giant pitcher with ice water. Discovering he screams that high made this a monthly occurrence:) He is 6’3″ & 250lbs.

A big move, a house and a baby later I forgot about my shenanigans until one day I was nursing my daughter and the hubs trotted past me with a brimming pitcher of ice water. His best friend was living with us at the time. He is also a 6′ 250lb man… and a soprano:)I was proud.
