Fab Freebie: Roll On Some Royalty

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below!***

Sorry for the late notice (travel is messing up my winner picking mojo!), but the random winner of this stencil prize is… Jen (who once “made a chevron painting with instructions I found on Pinterest and it turned out great”). Congrats Jen!

The love of stencils that first blossomed when we did our office walls only grew stronger when we tackled a couple of stenciling projects for our book (on pages 26 & 282). So in the spirit of sharing the love, this week’s prize comes from the maker of the very stencils that we used in all three cases – Royal Design Studio. We’re longtime fans of their modern shapes and patterns, and they’re starting you off with a $100 stencil gift card and throwing in a $100 “Stencil Success Kit” that includes the essentials for executing your stencil project. You’ll get a roller set, 7 brushes, and your choice of five stencil crémes. And to top it all off, how about a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice? That totals a $250 kick in the pants to get your stencil on.

Royal Design Studio Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $100 stencil gift card to Royal Design Studio, plus a “Stencil Success Kit” and a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “STENCIL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … one DIY project that you’ve tackled once and are dying to try again. Is it a paint project? Something building related? Are you itching to take another whack at a crafting or sewing project?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Royal Design Studio.

    Stencil Me!

*geek alert!* Last fall I went to a Civil War reenactment with my dad and two of my SILs. I made two (!) dresses for the event, and it was so much fun! I’m just dying to go to another so I have a chance to sew myself more ridiculously fun costumes!

We recently painted the front door, and replaced the hardware. It looks great, but now everything else out front looks like it needs to be painted! We will probably tackle painting the screen door, railing and shutters next (if the weather holds up this fall). :)

I painted in a chair-rail like boarder. Pretty plain. Would love to add to it. But currently my 5month old is keeping me pretty busy! But she’s too cute for me to complain :)

Stencil me! I want to do another window covering like I recently did in my family room (my bedroom and kitchen both need window coverings). But I also really want to do some stenciling in my laundry room! The previous owner touched up the white paint with a different white paint so it looks pretty bad (if you look closely enough, because I bet most people don’t notice it, but it bugs me). Plus I just got cute white enameled animal head hooks (giraffe and elephant) from Anthropologie and I need some contrast on the walls before putting them up!

I think the only redoing of a project would be making curtains for the guest room after making ones for the kitchen a while ago.

I loved stripping this cute little end table from a bright safety line yellow into this gorgeous cherry simple masterpiece. Oh, and I bought it at a nun’s flea market for $2. Seriously- it was at a convent. I can’t wait to find something else to play with!

Unfortunately, Life has been getting in the way of getting my DIY on, but last year I did an image transfer onto fabric using a artists solvent-based blending marker. I made a bunch of faux grain sack pillows for Christmas last year and would love to do some more!!!

Funnily enough… my one DIY project that I tackled and would like to tackle again actually goes along with your earlier post – I would love to attempt a roman curtain one more time. I wanted to make something for my window above my stove and ended up with a strange looking valance instead of the roman curtain I was aiming for. So that is a DIY I’d love to give another try to! Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

    STENCIL ME!

When I couldn’t find any fun patterned curtains for my living/dining room, I decided to paint my own with a stencil I made from a flexible cutting board (use what ya got!). It. Took. For. Ever. They look pretty good from far away, but up close… I’m anxious to try again. Love the simple striped tutorial from your book, now to find the colors!

    STENCIL ME!

I always thought stenciling was lame (old school flowers over doorways) until I saw it on your site and now I’m obsessed with it. I have a guestroom that I am plotting the stenciling of a whole wall.

DIY – I am dying to do more furniture re-vamping. I have a boring headboard and a boring dresser than need to be brought to their full fabulous potential.
