Fab Freebie: Roll On Some Royalty

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below!***

Sorry for the late notice (travel is messing up my winner picking mojo!), but the random winner of this stencil prize is… Jen (who once “made a chevron painting with instructions I found on Pinterest and it turned out great”). Congrats Jen!

The love of stencils that first blossomed when we did our office walls only grew stronger when we tackled a couple of stenciling projects for our book (on pages 26 & 282). So in the spirit of sharing the love, this week’s prize comes from the maker of the very stencils that we used in all three cases – Royal Design Studio. We’re longtime fans of their modern shapes and patterns, and they’re starting you off with a $100 stencil gift card and throwing in a $100 “Stencil Success Kit” that includes the essentials for executing your stencil project. You’ll get a roller set, 7 brushes, and your choice of five stencil crémes. And to top it all off, how about a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice? That totals a $250 kick in the pants to get your stencil on.

Royal Design Studio Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $100 stencil gift card to Royal Design Studio, plus a “Stencil Success Kit” and a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “STENCIL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … one DIY project that you’ve tackled once and are dying to try again. Is it a paint project? Something building related? Are you itching to take another whack at a crafting or sewing project?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Royal Design Studio.

Stencil me, please! We just bought our first home (a cozy ranch in North Jersey (hi Sherry!)) and I’m dreaming of a Moroccan inspired stencil down the hall. As to what I’d like to do more of, I’d love to do more DIY art – but that will have to wait until after packing and moving!
P.S. Sandy ruined plans with a friend to go to the NJ book signing, but maybe there will be a repeat? I’ve been pacing myself through your amazing book so I don’t read it all in one night!

    STENCIL ME!

Over the Spring & Summer we tackled our backyard; building raised garden beds, digging out a tree stump, etc. Now all I can think about is next spring and all the things I want to do back there. We plan on DIY’ing a compost bin, building a patio, planting more flowers and I have already started planning my vegetable garden!!

    STENCIL ME!

I have been painting the original hardwood floors in the upstairs of my 87-year-old house, because after ripping out the old carpet we found that they had been painted in the past, and wanted to seal it over with new paint just in case it was lead paint. Not the most fun, but I am loving the cottage-style white painted floors that result. We like it so much that we’ve decided not to re-carpet it, at least not for awhile. Only 1 more room to go, and I can’t wait for it to be done!

STENCIL ME! We’ve been hard at work finishing up the renovations in our home and all the drywall dust, tile, and hammering has me itching to start sewing again.
I’ve done little projects (curtains, fabric clocks, and other fun things with fabric) but I’ve only sewn a full dress once. I’m itching to get-my-sew-on and try an actual garment again. Crossing my fingers!
I’ll probably mess it up several times and go back to painting, tiling, and by vintage stuff for my walls. Either way, maybe next week maybe a year from now, I will have a homemade skirt or dress.

We tend to be big project people (e.g. we’re currently re-drywalling the ceiling in our soon-to-be second child’s room) so naturally, I’m dying to do something small. I did a quick 10-minute ornament project last Christmas that I hope to repeat this year, with some variation, of course.

STENCIL ME!!!! I recently dug an old handmade barn door out of a dumpster. It was the perfect shade of turquoise and I just couldn’t help myself. Anyway, I cut it down and painted an antelope on it (it matches an incredible set of mugs I have). It came out awesome and I would love to do it again with some stencils this time!

My latest DIY project is a mini crafting project to get ready for Christmas I’m making a new wreath for our front door, garland for the fire place out of left over scrapbooking paper from other projects, wrapping all our gifts with brown kraft paper + candy cane ribbon from Costco $7 for 250 yards!!! We saw the stencil project in your book and were talking about where we could tackle such a project in our condo…we were thinking one wall of the guest bedroom to add a warm feel. Would love to win the give away to sponsor that project – if not we will start after the holidays and all our guests come through!
