Fab Freebie: Roll On Some Royalty

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below!***

Sorry for the late notice (travel is messing up my winner picking mojo!), but the random winner of this stencil prize is… Jen (who once “made a chevron painting with instructions I found on Pinterest and it turned out great”). Congrats Jen!

The love of stencils that first blossomed when we did our office walls only grew stronger when we tackled a couple of stenciling projects for our book (on pages 26 & 282). So in the spirit of sharing the love, this week’s prize comes from the maker of the very stencils that we used in all three cases – Royal Design Studio. We’re longtime fans of their modern shapes and patterns, and they’re starting you off with a $100 stencil gift card and throwing in a $100 “Stencil Success Kit” that includes the essentials for executing your stencil project. You’ll get a roller set, 7 brushes, and your choice of five stencil crémes. And to top it all off, how about a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice? That totals a $250 kick in the pants to get your stencil on.

Royal Design Studio Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $100 stencil gift card to Royal Design Studio, plus a “Stencil Success Kit” and a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “STENCIL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … one DIY project that you’ve tackled once and are dying to try again. Is it a paint project? Something building related? Are you itching to take another whack at a crafting or sewing project?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Royal Design Studio.

    STENCIL ME!
We refinished a dresser for my daughter’s room and it turned out SO well and was so affordable… and I’ve been searching for the perfect chest of drawers for our room. Im convinced it doesn’t exist, so I think we just have to MAKE it exist by modifying another thrift store piece… :)

STENCIL ME! I have been meaning to get some Gorilla Glue to try and re-do the shadowboxes from my son’s 1st and second birthdays that were an epic fail the first time when I used Krazy Glue and it wasn’t strong enough to hold up the candles!!

    Stencil Me!

I painted stripes on one wall in my daughter’s nursery. It was too cold in the room when we painted and the tape pulled the Sheetrock off the walls. We patched it up but she is ready for a big girl room and would love to experiment with something else to cover the stripes.

    STENCIL ME!

I’ve been able to accessorize only one bedroom in my whole house because of ongoing remodeling that needs to happen before pretty is added. I’m so itching to get to another room already! Even hanging a new rod and curtains (and throwing away the 50 year old stuff that was here when we moved in) in another bedroom feels like a HUGE accomplishment.

My favorite DIY was a couple of framed jewelry hangers – cheap goodwill frames repainted, with some fabric-covered cork board and push pins. Super easy and cute!

    STENCIL ME!

Actually – in sticking with the paint theme, I recently painted all the closets and baseboards in our home in preparation for selling it. I always thought I hated painting, but found it must just be large walls I hate painting. The detail / small space thing I really like! We hope to buy a bigger house (one we have in mind…) soon and there is a little half bath that would love some stenciling / detail painting :)

    STENCIL ME!

My last DIY project was to stencil one wall in our living room. I used flat paint, then used the same color, in semi-gloss (couldn’t get high gloss with the paint I chose) for the stencil effect. It turned out great. I had some hiccups, but no one has noticed them, yet =) I really want to add a stencil in our pantry, between the shelving. It’s an open area, and it needs a little something to make it pop =)
