Fab Freebie: Roll On Some Royalty

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below!***

Sorry for the late notice (travel is messing up my winner picking mojo!), but the random winner of this stencil prize is… Jen (who once “made a chevron painting with instructions I found on Pinterest and it turned out great”). Congrats Jen!

The love of stencils that first blossomed when we did our office walls only grew stronger when we tackled a couple of stenciling projects for our book (on pages 26 & 282). So in the spirit of sharing the love, this week’s prize comes from the maker of the very stencils that we used in all three cases – Royal Design Studio. We’re longtime fans of their modern shapes and patterns, and they’re starting you off with a $100 stencil gift card and throwing in a $100 “Stencil Success Kit” that includes the essentials for executing your stencil project. You’ll get a roller set, 7 brushes, and your choice of five stencil crémes. And to top it all off, how about a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice? That totals a $250 kick in the pants to get your stencil on.

Royal Design Studio Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $100 stencil gift card to Royal Design Studio, plus a “Stencil Success Kit” and a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “STENCIL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … one DIY project that you’ve tackled once and are dying to try again. Is it a paint project? Something building related? Are you itching to take another whack at a crafting or sewing project?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Royal Design Studio.

    STENCIL ME!

Lastest DIY is my daughter’s (bookshelf turned) doll house. Was actually going to copy Clara’s closet stencil!

STENCIL ME! There’s not a project I want to try again…but I really want to try stenciling for the first time. We just finished a bathroom reno and I want to stencil a wall in there. Just waiting for my husband to leave for a weekend so I can do it…I think he’s a little skeptical of my abilities;)

    Stencil me…

When I was a sophmore in high school I stenciled my huge bedroom. It took the entire year for me to complete it. I only got to enjoy it for about a year and when I went to college, my parents moved into my old room and painted over the stencil. I’d LOVE to stencil my new apartment (No, I didn’t move out because of the stencil incident of ’07) and this would certainly help!

I just finished a buffet makeover yesterday. I had to strip the existing paint then I stained the top a dark walnut and painted the bottom a light blue. Next, I’m going to redo my coffee table the same way. Hoping to start on that next weekend!

I would like to sew something. I haven’t done any sewing in a long time.

If I won the stencils I would start by stenciling the small “room” that contains the toilet in the master bath. (What do you do with a toilet room?)

i made a fun Virginia art piece using fonts and cities/counties with special meaning to us. I painted a wood plaque and modpodge the whole thing. It was great.
Then I tried modpodge on a much larger scale and it was an epic fail. part of me is itching to finally finish the big project that I failed at, but alot of me wants to try again on a smaller scale.

    STENCIL ME!

I use to be a fiber-artist (knitting and sewing, specifically) but it hurt my hands too much. I’d like to get into crocheting though, and now that I have a working sewing machine it would be nice to get back into sewing. I always find myself going back to DIY furniture are such, I love to take road-side finds and re-structure them, re-paint them, and re-purpose. Right now my partner and I are working on breaking down a couple old futons to build into a compost system. I love me some power tools!
