Fab Freebie: Roll On Some Royalty

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below!***

Sorry for the late notice (travel is messing up my winner picking mojo!), but the random winner of this stencil prize is… Jen (who once “made a chevron painting with instructions I found on Pinterest and it turned out great”). Congrats Jen!

The love of stencils that first blossomed when we did our office walls only grew stronger when we tackled a couple of stenciling projects for our book (on pages 26 & 282). So in the spirit of sharing the love, this week’s prize comes from the maker of the very stencils that we used in all three cases – Royal Design Studio. We’re longtime fans of their modern shapes and patterns, and they’re starting you off with a $100 stencil gift card and throwing in a $100 “Stencil Success Kit” that includes the essentials for executing your stencil project. You’ll get a roller set, 7 brushes, and your choice of five stencil crémes. And to top it all off, how about a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice? That totals a $250 kick in the pants to get your stencil on.

Royal Design Studio Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $100 stencil gift card to Royal Design Studio, plus a “Stencil Success Kit” and a $50 paint allowance to the paint store of your choice
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “STENCIL ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … one DIY project that you’ve tackled once and are dying to try again. Is it a paint project? Something building related? Are you itching to take another whack at a crafting or sewing project?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 14th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Royal Design Studio.

I am an awful DIYer. Not that I am totally bad with the end product. It’s just that I have so much anxiety about starting that I never do. These products would give me a real kick in the pants, eh?

I have always wanted to paint my fireplace white. It’s sort of like a stone tan/earthy brown tones and the gold fireplace trim is not cutting it. My husband will be on a business trip in a few weeks so I might tackle it while he’s gone (behind his back). He’s always giving me grief for fixing things that doesn’t need fixing. I’m sure he’ll love the results.

I painted murals for my kids, about 6 years ago. They are now 6 and 8 and their tastes have evolved and are asking for something new. It kind of breaks my heart a bit to redo them but I see where they’re coming from.

I painted my dresser & our stairs using the ombre paint technique. I was just thinking the stairs needed something more & I have been looking at stencils to finish the job.
I also have 2 more dressers waiting in the wings that could use paint jobs – I’m hooked.

I just made a series of chalk boards made from old silver trays found at thrift stores. Some will be gifts complete with custom pastel drawings and some will be hung them on walls from black polka dot ribbon. I’m using one large rectangular chalkboard tray on an easel to announce the menu items for upcoming Holiday parties. Future project – I want to stencil my bedroom walls in a large floral swirl pattern!!

STENCIL ME! I’m dying to install more light switches! Actually I’m dying for my husband to install more light switches in our 1923 house where electricity was an afterthought and the rooms upstairs still have pull-chain ceiling lights…imagine stumbling around in the dark looking for the bedroom light. So far only the nursery has been done.

Pick me, pick me, pick me!!! I love royal Design Studio and have been wanting to try a stencil project!
My most recent DIY project was refinishing a beautiful vanity and mirror that I inherited from my husbands family! After stripping, sanding, priming, painting and then painting again (second coat) now you can see all the beautiful detail around the mirror and drawers! I decided to paint it a very shiny high gloss white… and I love it so much!!!
Thanks to YHL and Royal Design Studio for all the inspiration I receive from you when I visit your website!
