My was actually a wall stencil, oddly enough! I just got done painting diamonds in our new master bedroom and failed to make sure they were all “perfectly placed” before I started. When I peeled off the tape, I found a few errors. Next time, I will succeed!

I have a ton of DIY projects I’m dying to do, from repaint our antique China Cabinet and Buffet that we just got (For $150 for the set! SCORE!), to repainting our builtins, to finishing our Master Bedroom. I’m really dying for someone to get married or have a a baby so that I can design and DIY some invites. For my wedding this summer, I sewed a pennant banner (or is that bunting) … actually a bunch, but I asked my new MIL to finish them — and I haven’t sewed since! I want to definitely get back into sewing and make some additional curtains for our house, be able to make quilts, etc.! Even though I hadn’t used a sewing machine since I was a little girl, it was just so much fun and the results were so immediate.

One of my recent projects was to paint a rug. I just can’t justify spending as much on rugs as most companies are asking! I knew exactly what I wanted- wide, bright green nautical-style stripes, but couldn’t find it for less than $200 online. So, off to the DIY blogs. Apparently, rug painting is common, and I saw some beautiful examples and got some good tips to help keep my rug from being too crunchy. For about $50 I was able to get the rug I wanted and enjoy a project (and I so enjoy a DIY Project). I’d love to do this again when my husband and I upgrade to a king sized- bed (read: I get to buy new linens and re-decorate!). I’d also like to try making my own headboard!
