Fab Freebie: Pressed And Ready

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Since we know you guys love personalized stationery as much as we do (and we always like to support other husband and wife teams), we’re psyched to bring you this week’s giveaway from Wild Ink Press. This duo – plus their 2 year old son/sidekick- churns out beautiful letterpress stationery by hand (and foot). And they print all of their stuff on 100% recycled paper or cotton and reuse everything from scraps to clean-up rags, always keeping their process as eco-friendly as possible. But of course, it’s their stunning designs that are the real stars of their process.

And this week, TWO of you are going to win a custom set of letterpress stationery (up to a $150 value each!). Here are the five designs our winners will have the pleasure of choosing from, either for themselves (or maybe even as a Valentine’s Day gift?). First we have The Signature, which puts your name in a silver metallic script with a custom icon to add some whimsy. And you can pick from green, pink, khaki or gray envelopes to match. Man, I wish my signature came out this fancy looking every time I sign on the dotted line.

WildInk Signature

The Dictionary is a classic design with dark brown or black ink on ivory paper. And speaking of the ivories, the khaki envelope comes lined with vintage sheet music or an actual dictionary page (smoking jacket and pipe not included).

WildInk Dictionary

The Bandana Paisley is kinda dusty old west meets colorful sophistication. Pick from a magenta, turquoise, purple or red paisley to coordinate with a gray, khaki or purple envelope. A far cry from the days of the Pony Express.

WildInk Bandana

The Nautical had us at “ahoy.” It comes on beachy pale blue paper with a ship ghosted in the background and a handsome navy envelope.

WildInk Nautical

The Audrey is a combo of a sophisticated dotted pinstripe and your name printed in a playful circus font. The orange or magenta color options for both the type and envelope finish off the big top design.

WildInk Pinstripe

Have you already picked out the one you love? Well here’s how you can vie for your chance to win (bonus: stay tuned for a discount on Thursday- everyone sort of wins in the end):

  • PRIZE: A 30-piece set of custom letterpress stationery from Wild Ink Press (selected from the five designs shown here).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PRESS ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about your writing style. Do you write exclusively in cursive? Do you rock all caps all of the time? Do you dot your I’s with something special? Is your penmanship virtually unreadable? Or do you just avoid hand-writing at all costs?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 3rd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: You name it. They’ll ship it anywhere!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

PRESS ME!! I’m obsessed with The Signature – so adorable!

I am a total type-A personality and I have extremely neat handwriting. I graduate from medical school in a few months so hopefully my handwriting won’t turn illegible like most docs once I graduate :)

I write in a cursive/print mix…and all of my Rs are capital letters, but if they are in the middle of a word they are little like the rest of the letters but look like a capital R. Like MaRyGene ARmstRong but…the Rs aren’t big. Annnyway, I’m Loooooooving the first one with the swirly letters and the dictionary one!! Just beautiful!

My writing seems to change by the minute…I’m out of practice since the last time I wrote lots in long hand was high school exams, or notes in class in university. I’m building up those muscles though and writing more and more.

Incidentally, I’d totally use this win for our wedding invitations…oh man, beautiful!

In all honesty, I have never learned the art of cursive writing. In 3rd grade, I would hold my pen a different way while trying to learn this talent, and my teacher would be so angry. Hence, I can only write in neat print. These notecards are so precious and versitile enough to send to your best friend in a different state, or to my aunt for sending me cookies. :)

I am definitely an all caps kind of girl. I think it comes from my college days of learning architectural lettering in my interior design classes. After all that time, I still write like I’m working on a blueprint even though hand lettering is barely used any more.

Press me! What fun lovely stationary! I love the handmade stuff. Somewhere between 2nd grade and high school I just adapted the print/cursive mix. After I got yelled at in 1st grade for trying cursive too early (sheesh, who does that to a six year old?) I guess I just couldn’t bring myself to write only in cursive.

I love sending handwritten notes, especially when the stationary is that cute! I always print, and I tend to write in bold loopy letters that often get me misidentified as a grade school teacher.

I teach third grade, so I write in print until January. Then I switch to cursive.
Outside of work, I do a mix of the two. Cursive shmooshed with some print and my own cursive letters that aren’t really cursive. When I sign my name, I really emphasize the initials, which sort of hug each other. You might have to actually see that – I can’t really explain it well.

I love the Dictionary set, it’s so 100% my style! I write in script normally, but for casual or ‘comfortable’ writing I prefer all lower-cased cursive. I can whip out drafting typography (what you see on blueprintgs), but I have to really think about it, and it’s not my favorite.

My very strict foreign school forced us to write in cursive, all the way until graduating from High School. In Elementary school, all our capitals had to be written in red pen, and the rest of the word in blue pen!

I have adopted print writing since leaving that country and moving to the US (me, being a rebel). My handwriting in print could not be uglier, though!

Let me first say that I love type – and my handwriting reflects my great affinity for letters that reflect the pretty, the delicate, the audacious, the witty, or the just plain sloppy…dependent upon the situation. I’ve perfected writing in something akin to the font “Architect” for invitations, intricate calligraphy for fancier occasions (like dinner party menus), but mostly I write in ALL CAPS for all of my work notes.

I’m a lefty, so my style is all over the place: It can be slanted, messy, half print-half cursive (curprint) if I’m not really really careful. And as always for a lefty, my page is turned sideways.

I find typing much easier, but since my loved one is deployed overseas with the military right now, I make an effort to send as many hand-written letters as possible. I usualyl start out printing, but start getting tired halfway through and slip into cursive. Not pretty, but heartfelt nonetheless!
