Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada

Paint my pet. I would choose Nikki my dachshund. She is my oldest at age 10 and I am her favorite person. She already has gray on her face. She is obsessive about licking so much that I have to spray my sheets with a bitter taste for her to quit. She is sweet and a lap dog. We have to make her go outside to pee when it’s cold or rainy. Loves to hunt squirrel. She stayed under a tree for 6 hours because a squirrel was in it. I had to go physically pick her up to come back in the house. I have 4 dogs and she is more timid than the others. Love that baby. Would so love to have her portrait.

PAINT MY PET!!! I want my Burger twin – GUCCI painted :) Gucci is the biggest sweetheart in the world with her own personality. She honestly thinks she’s human, and just loves to cuddle and burrow herself under the covers – especially just after the bed has been made! We have been working to snap the perfect photo of her to frame for our wall in the past month, so having a hand painted picture would be just perfect!

PAINT MY PET! I adopted a short haired jack russel type terrier mix a few years ago. She had basically terrorized her neighborhood, she had bitten a few people and didn’t get along with other dogs! However since she has been with us she has won countless titles competing in dog events like terrier racing, dock diving, weight pull, and even flyball. All she needed was an outlet! Miss Klaire is a godsend. Love her to death!

PAINT MY PET! Well, actually not my pet – while I have two Springer Spaniels that I love to pieces, I am entering in honor of a friend of mine who just had to say goodbye to her dog over the weekend after a cancerous absess was discovered. Her Shepherd mix, Kira, was an incredible dog who loved to hike the Colorado mountains, chase sticks and pine cones, and spend time with her “mom” and furry brother Forrest. I know a piece of art commemorating her beloved Kira would mean more than words can say to my friend.

PAINT MY PET!!! Seriously please let me win this one! My black Labrador Tuckerman (named after Tuckerman’s Ravine on Mt. Washington) is a ham. He talks to us using different sounding yawning noises and tilts his head when we talk to him to let us know he is engaged in the conversation. I have never had a dog with so much personality. He also happens to be quite attractive and would love a painting of himself.

    PAINT MY PET!

I adopted by 10 1/2 year old Lucy (Border Collie/Lab mix) when I was an 18 yr old college student – I was living alone at the time and missed my family dog terribly. Two years ago she tore her ACL after a backpacking trip, and during her recovery all 110 lbs of me carried all 70 lbs of her up and down a flight of stairs 3x’s a day so she could go potty. Lucy has fully recovered and has since retired from her backpacking days – she now is enjoying her retirement with lots of sleep (on the couch she’s not allowed on!). A beautiful portrait to portray my best dog friend would be the “woofing on my house” (icing on my cake) LOL

Please PAINT MY PET!!! I have two Bichons, brothers in fact, they share the same mother and father but are 8 months apart, one litter. They are like frick and frack, two peas in a pod – best friends some days and driving eachother wild the next. I can’t imagine my life without these hooligans, they always manage to make me laugh or smile and it’s the highlight of my day coming home to them and their sweet toothy “smiles” that I get as I walk in the door.

Best of luck to all :)

Paint My Pet – I would have a portrait of my sweet baby girl, Mia, painted. She is a 6 month old lab/retreiver mix and she is funniest dog ever. She is so smart, yet barks at all umbrellas and also her reflection when she sees it in a mirror. She has rawhide bones hidden in almost every room of the house, and my favorite thing is when she jumps up and runs into a random room just so she can move that bone. He tries to talk to us, “sings” along to happy birthday, watches TV with us, and even gets cranky when woken up before 8am (like his momma!)
