Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

Lesli Devito Paintings Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A custom pet painting from Leslie Devito Paintings up to 20″ x 20″ in size (a $500 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lesli Devito.

PAINT MY PET! We have a three year old schnorgi named Wally. He’s only 20lbs but he is fearless of anything…except the toaster. Yes the toaster. Giant dobermans? No problem…the sight of the toaster sends him running to hide under the bed though!

PAINT MY PET! Our one year old chocolate lab, Augustus Franklin, or as we call him Gus. He is very well behaved, but occasionally gets very scared of random items like sticks.

As a puppy he was afraid of his carseat harness. So much that one day when we went to take him to Petsmart for class, he hopped up on the pushed in dining room chair and sat on the seat so I couldn’t see him (as it was under the table).

Also as a pup he was afraid of peanut butter. NO kidding.

PAINT MY PET!! My pup, Stout, is a rescue (from a local Richmond, VA rescue – Bonnie Blue Rescue) and the cutest mix of American Bulldog, Boston Terrior, and Pointer. So he looks like the boston as far as colors go, but has the ears and face of the american bulldog and the tail of the pointer. We love him to bits and pieces!

PAINT MY PET! My family’s dog, Peppermint, is a Yorkie who loves to dress up and have his picture taken. Last Christmas, he heard the camera shutter when my mom took a picture of my dad and brother, so he ran into the room and sat in front to pose with them!

Since I’m petless at the moment, I’d have a portrait made as a gift for my mother-in-law. Her chihuahua is their only grandchild and she adores him!

PAINT MY PET! I’d definitely want a painting of my Tibetan Terrier mix Priya. There are so many things that make Priya fun to be around; she has a huge personality! One of the funniest is her enthusiasm for her “play dead” trick. You can almost see how tortured she is trying to stay still in the right pose and keep the tail wagging to a minimum when we give the command. Her love of carrots but disdain for any sort of fruit is pretty comical too.

Id love a picture of my big fat white boxer Morgan. He is such a sweet heart. My 3 year old daughter just adores him and he is SOO good with her. She recently made him sit in front of her play vanity, “painted” his nails and put princess dress up heels on him. Best Doggy Eva!!

I would absolutely LOVE to have a portrait of my cat painted. We’ve had her for five years now and I don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s super rude (always purposely knocking things off the desk… and making direct eye contact while she does it) but makes up for it by being the most beautiful, affectionate cat ever.

PAINT MY PET My Rosie, a mutt, who is full of fluffy-white goodness with caramel undertones and ears is our true love. We adopted her last year. Most of the time we have to tell her to “pee pee outside” or she’ll forget b/c she’s too worried about chipmunks. Then she sneak pees behind the couch. Mama mia!

Plus, I’ve been wanting one of these by Lesli for awhile now! (and I used to live in Crozet.) Please let this be my lucky win!!!
