Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

Lesli Devito Paintings Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A custom pet painting from Leslie Devito Paintings up to 20″ x 20″ in size (a $500 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lesli Devito.

PAINT MY PET! Oh my goodness I NEED to win this! Our beloved Golden Retriever passed away this summer at only 9 1/2 years old from a cancerous tumor. She was the BEST dog in the world. Everyone loved her. She was the sweetest most laid back dog ever. This would be a great way to honor our sweet irreplaceable Sadie!

I’d have my dog Millie painted. She is seriously the best dog ever with my kids – our 10 month old spends most of the day climbing on her, and all she does is lie there patiently.

If that’s against the rules, I do have my own pet :)

PAINT MY PET! We adopted a rescue baby named Chloe. I say “baby” because there is no way she thinks she is a dog. She is one of us, and that’s the way we like it! She is a small terrier mix, and does the most adorable army crawl with her back legs out like a frog when she is excited.

PAINT MY PET! I have a sweet, blue-eyed miniature australian shepherd boy named Mason who just turned one. One thing that astounds people is his bunny-like ability to jump several feet in the hair and prance around. It’s a sight to see! This is my favorite giveaway yet, haha. :)

I would have my oldest Chihuahua Azora sit for a portrait, and maybe if she’s nice and would share, her sister Luna, also a Chihuahua, could be included. The first time I ever read your blog and saw Burger, I thought “How did these people get a picture of my dog?” Hand to god, my Zora is The Burg’s doppelganger. Even if I don’t win, I’ll have to figure out how to post a picture of her so you can gaze in amazement at the similarities between the two.

Holly the Yellow lab. Calm, cool and collected, she brings the chaos down with her hypnotizin’ eyes and squeally yawns. Who needs a walk when that sunbeam says ‘nap with me’? Of course, the world flips over when water is within view. Then it’s break out the ball cuz I’ve got some retrieving to do. Look out waves!

I’d want my kitty, Belzer, painted as a present to my mother. He’s her heart. We took him in 7 years ago (he was a stray), and he was incredibly feral. For months, he would not even let us touch him. Now he is the most loving cat we’ve ever had, and we’ve had a LOT.

And funny thing is, my mom’s birthday is the 3rd, so maybe that will be our good luck charm!

“Paint My Pet!” We have a four year old sweet little shitzu named Cody who has taken third wheel behind our one and two year old baby boys. Sadly our little sweetheart who once was the center of our world, now has to take back seat for affection until our other little guys are sleeping or otherwise occupied. This would be a great way to make him feel important again.
