Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

Lesli Devito Paintings Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A custom pet painting from Leslie Devito Paintings up to 20″ x 20″ in size (a $500 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lesli Devito.

It would be a hard choice…we have Spencer the border collie, who is ridiculously cute and petite with perky ears, also Carex the german shepherd who takes mellow to the extreme, and Bruce the cat who is the boss of everyone. If forced to choose I’d probably have to say Spencer, he’s the most photogenic. :)

PAINT MY PET! Tipsy, our 5 year old boxer/lab mix. She was in my husbands life before I came along & now she has become “ours”. Her quirky name fits her quirky personality & I love her more simply because my husband adores her to the moon & back. The way David lights up when he sees her makes my heart melt :)

PAINT MY PETS!! I have a miniature Schnauzer and he just follows me everywhere. He even follows me to the potty:-P, but one of the most hilarious things is if he is watching tv and they are recording through a windshield, he freaks out and wants to hide behind us because he thinks he’s riding in the car. It’s hilarious!!!

PAINT MY PET! I have a 10 year old seal-point Siamese cat named Miko (although my neighbour gave her the moniker ‘itty bitty kitty’ as she’s never hit the 5 lb. mark). She’s definitely weird (as most Siamese cats are I think). The weirdest (and most expensive) thing she ever did was eat Lego! She chewed and swallowed up one of the little rubber tires that fits around the Lego piece to make ‘wheels’ – luckily 4 days and $1,100 later, she was fine! If nothing else, it was a good lesson for my son to pick up his Lego at the end of the day!

Our miss Lily (the super beagle) is turning 12 and we love her sooo much. She’s been there for all our family milestones and is the calm to our crazy. She is our only animal family member and treat her like our 3rd child.

She has been slowing down a lot this last year and we are so worried she won’t be around much longer. A beautiful painted portrait would honor such an important part of our family.

    Cheers!
