Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada

Oh that will be so hard to choose just one. I love our little rabbit that my husband got me for Valentine’s Day. But our dog Bailey is the best dog ever!

    PAINT MY PET!

We have 2 dogs (one is a 3 month Maltese Bichon mix, and the other is a black lab) who are best friends so I would love to have them painted together! They both have their quirks but it never ceases to make me laugh when the lab runs away from the craziest things – such as a tape measure – while the little dog is fearless! They make quite the pair. :)

PAINT MY PET! I’d love to have both of my kitties painted. They both have so much personality; Pheobe is a loveable spaz that is so cuddly I need a kitty bjorn because she wants to be held all the time. Charlie is very independent, but a big softie. He can do tricks like a dog, and he loves to rub my husband’s beard with his nose. Having these two in decorative wall-art form would be fantastic!

PAINT MY PET! This would be a hard choice, because I lost my cat in March. His name was Tigger and he was 17. He liked to stick his head inside a mug and drink the tea inside!

On the other hand, my sis lost her dog a year ago, his name was Zeus. He was a gentle giant with my baby girl.

PAINT MY PET! (Please!) :) My family dogs, Abbey and Tucker, were the LOVE of our lives. They both passed within a year of one another, and not a day goes by that my mother doesn’t get misty-eyed when seeing a duo of labs walking down the street. This would be an awesome gift! Thank you!

Paint my Pet! I would want my two small dogs to be painted. Scooby (like Scooby Doo the tv show) has been through a lot in only two years and he is so strong. He snores when he sleeps. He will also show his teeth and act like he is going to bite you if you show him your teeth. He never will actually bite you, but when he snaps at you, he stops and licks you!

Lulu has soooo much energy it is ridiculus. No one in this house can keep up with her. She loves to snuggle though if you let her sit on your lap.

I have a Chihuahua mix ( they said pomeranian but I think terrier) named Tito. Just like the spanish meaning of his name he thinks he is a giant! Cutest thing he does is sprints circles around the house when I get home. Its hilarious and always makes me laugh nevertheless the day I might of had!

PAINT MY PET! It would be a huge blessing to have a painting of our family dog, Tucker. After 12 beloved years together we had to put him down on Friday after a struggle with diabetes. The thing I’ll miss most about him is how simply excited he was anytime we came home, always right there to greet us at the door. One of the first things we talked about was getting a piece of artwork or photograph framed to remember him by and this would be lovely.

Well, or my sister’s pet :) If I won, I’d probably end up getting a portrait of my sister’s Boston Terrier Bruiser to give to her. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle.

Of course, as much as I love Bruiser, it would be hard to not get a portrait of my rabbit Thumper. My little bun is super smart and goes “bedtime” (to his cage) on command :)

PAINT MY PET! Our dog, Steiner the Wiemerainer, is the apple of my husband’s eye and the bain of my existence. I used to love the dog, until the first baby was born. The whole thing is very “Marley and Me.” I love him and hate him at the same time. Anyways, regardless of his unforgivable behavior, he is a gorgeous dog and would make an awesome portrait. My husband would fall over with disbelief that I did anything for him that involved the dog.

Oh man, it’d be so hard to choose between my two dogs. Maybe if I won one I’d just go ahead and buy the other. My dogs are both rescues and full of love and character. My female does this cute head tilt when you talk to her and my male has to be touching you at all times. He is my velcro dog.

PAINT MY PET! I’d paint Gidget because she’s sweet AND surly all at the same time. Plus – a man gave her away to us in a park one day. Love a good fake rescue but maybe a lesson learned is “don’t take a Jack Russell Terrier from a man willing to give her away to total strangers in a park…” 8 years in, best bad judgement call we ever made.

As a tiny yorkshire terrier, you’d think she’d act like a lady, but she’s a little bossy turd sometimes. Love her. We copied your idea for doggie art from when you had Burger “paint” on paper – needless to say, Burger is much more artistic than Anya…haha

PAINT MY PET! I’d have our dog, Rollins, painted. My husband and I got Rollins not too long after we started living together. He’ll always be our first baby, even when we start having kids. One of my favorite things about Rollins is coming home to him. I love that he’s always so excited to see us (and bring us a toy to play with), and can instantly make me smile no matter what kind of day I’ve had. He has the best personality, is a great cuddler and we’re so lucky to have him!
