Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)

Paint my pet! My blue-tick hound, Bella is completely obsessed with (her version of) fishing. She will spend hours on end pacing back in forth in the lake, looking for fish. She has yet to catch anything in her 3 summers, but she is in her “happy place” every moment at the lake, nonetheless.

PAINT MY PET(s)! Well, since today is Champ’s (our Golden Retriever) 10th birthday, definitely him. And then depending on how his younger sister, Bailey (a mixed breed found on the side of the road near HSC) is acting, we may include her, too. Just kidding…we’d include Bailey, but sometimes she’s like the forgotten stepchild!

Paint my pet! My dogs Coffee (rat terrier mix) and Griswold (dachshund) are so strange. We give them antlers as chews. They love them. Great. This past weekend we bought two mounted antlers at goodwill. Not for the dogs (gross) but for decor. The dogs sat underneath the table we put the antlers on and cried for them until I couldnt take it anymore and hid them in another room. Love those pups!

Paint my pet. It would have be both Thor and Loki (husky german shepard mutts) since they are attached at the hip. We had our boys since they were 10 days old and abandoned at the shelter. Thor sounds like chewbacca in the morning when he needs outside.

I’d have a painting of my Golden, Lily. I’d hang it in the baby’s room because they are best friends! Lily is afraid of everything…especailly partially closed doors. See, she has a weight complex. She isn’t overweight a bit, but she must believe she’s the size of an elephant because she can’t possibly go through a door unless it’s 100% open! Silly dog!

PAINT MY PET!! Well not really my pet but as pet as I am going to get. It is my fantastically wonderful furry nephew. He is a one year old american bull dog, he is huge but doesn’t have a clue. He is terrified of birds, wind, blowing leaves and it is the cutest, sweetest darn guy I know. He sits at the patio table in a chair – the whole leg hanging over thing! He believes the best treat in the world is an ice cube – oh man that is living!
I am set to get a tattoo of his paw print (in his beautiful brindle colours) and a custom portrait would be absolutely in-freaking-sane!

The cutest thing she does is sit at the dinner table like a human.. literally sit on her butt sitting up. She knows shes not allowed to put her paws on the table so she has learned how to balance her self yet still see every move of each piece of food

“PAINT MY PET” I have been wanting to get a painting of our dog Cash. He’s a 5 year old yellow lab and is completely adorable, in my completely unbiased opinion of course :) He folds his paw over when he lays down and rests his chin on it. It looks strange but his contortionism just endears him to us even more.
