Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada

You wouldn’t believe it by seeing how he is with my daughter….he is actually a cuddle monster. Unless it involves a three year old, then the grouchy old (he’s 11!) man comes out.

A painting of our little weenie dogs would be the BEST surprise for my wife! She (and I) loves our dogs so much she would probably cry if she had something as awesome as this to hang on the wall. We don’t have human kids, but we always say we do have dog “kids”.

I’d actually like to win this so I could give the painting to a friend. One of her dogs recently ran away from the pet sitter while she was on vacation and unfortunately, the story doesn’t have a happy ending… so I’d like to get my friend something to remember her beloved pet.

PAINT MY PET! I’d probably paint our one-floppy-one-perky-eared corgi, Maddie. She has the best expressions– no need for this dog to speak; I can usually tell what she’s thinking. Love her to pieces! I think her flopped on the ground with all her legs going every direction with an exasperated “oh humans!” look on her face would sum up this pooch pretty precisely. :)

My miniature dachshund, Warren, is the funniest little dog. He has such a distinct personality and makes us laugh every day. I would probably hang it in my office (I’m a Physician Assistant) and I’m sure that all of my patients would LOVE looking at it as much as I would!

PAINT MY PET! I’d have a hard time choosing, since I have 2 miniature Dachshunds and 6 chickens. Dog would be the obvious choice, so I’m going to go with chicken. Probably one of my Speckled Sussex. Emmadine is currently moulting (losing her feathers) so probably not a good choice. Stella is a new momma chicken to three surrogate chicks. She did an awesome job raising 3 babies that weren’t her own(from birth). She taught them how to be chickens; peck and scratch for bugs, etc. That’s about all chickens do. Oh, and make my breakfast!

Oh goodness this is so neat! I am actually trying to get a little portrait of my sister’s dog, Jack, for her for Christmas! Such cute portraits so this is good to know! He is the cutest little baby. He is 6 just like Burger! He has been the best dog for my sister’s family! They welcomed my niece, Mia, into the family 19 months ago and you would think she belonged to Jack. :) They have such a special relationship! I think it is great Clara and Burger seem to have a special relationship too! I adore yalls blog. I read it daily and think yall are just about the cutest little family! Thanks for sharing so much!

Yay! PAINT MY PET! I would love a colourful piece of artwork of our Boston bulldog Caesar. He’s a crazy nut ball that we just love to bits! We take him everywhere, even to the barn where he insists on running directly beside our horse Okie when we go out on trails. Instead of almost passing out from exhaustion by trying to keep up, he could very easily just watch and wait for me. But I should know better because staying out of the action is definitely not “Dr. Sneeze’s” style.

“PAINT MY PET!” We rescued our Lucy from a mill, she was 5 at the time and had outlived her usefulness to the mill. She is a Cairn Terrier(think Toto, who was a female btw) only blonde! She is now living the life of luxury but in return gives us so much unconditional love. She makes us laugh every day at her antics and the only toy she has learned to play with is her “squeaker”. She is now 9 and as Desi used to say “Lucy…you have some ‘spaining to do.” She is in good health but we will never know the effects of those first 5 years on her longevity and that is why I would love to have her painted! Thanks for the chance!
