Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

Lesli Devito Paintings Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A custom pet painting from Leslie Devito Paintings up to 20″ x 20″ in size (a $500 value)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what pet you’d want painted. And while you’re at it, what’s one thing that makes your pet especially lovable, weird, loyal, or just generally fun to have around?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lesli Devito.

PAINT MY PET! I actually want this to get artwork for my sister, who adores her dog like there’s no tomorrow. She is the best sister and best aunt to my kids I could ever ask for!

i am the proud momma to 6 (yes, 6) renascence bulldogs, who recently became friends to our 14 chickens. i never thought in a million years they could co-exist. but my husband proved me wrong. now the dogs can chew on their bones 3″ away from the chickens. its a miracle!

I have three wonderful and sweet senior kitties but I’d have to get my gorgeous greyhound Odin his own painting! He is so beautiful that he literally turns heads whenever he’s in public. He’s the sweetest dog in the universe so he has the personality to match his looks. :)

I would want my dog Sasha painted. She is so special to me because I didn’t know what kind of dog she was when I adopted her from the humane society when she was a little pup. She is the best dog anyone could ask for. She tries to talk to you when you talk to her and she will watch TV with you (especially if its Animal Channel).

I would love to have my cat’s portrait painted, but my husband doesn’t exactly like the cat like I do, so I would compromise and get our dog painted. Our rescue dog, Layla, a lab/terrier mix, just recently started finding her terrier side by snuffing out chipmunks in our new yard, and just yesterday she found her lab side and overcame her fear of swimming! I’m a proud mama.

PAINT MY PET!! My 12.5 year old pug Mya.. Some dogs are working dogs, but the pug is a “call in sick to work” dog. She is my shadow – she was abused until I got her at age 2 and I am pretty sure that she and me were meant to be. She’s also a little vain and would love the opportunity to have her portrait above the mantle to make the other dogs jealous ;-)

PAINT MY PET! I want a painting of my yellow lab Lucy. She is 85 pounds and just turned 8 last week, but still acts like a goofy little puppy. She has a lipoma (benign tumor made of fat) growing out of the side of her neck/jaw which the vet would rather leave alone as long as it isn’t bothering her, which it isn’t, which gives her a “unique” look, but she’s adorable anyway.
