Fab Freebie: Portrait Of A Fido

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

And the lucky random pet parent who’s about to get a cheery pet portrait is… Kirstin (who’s excited to get a portrait of Lola, her “adorable Boston Terrier/English Bulldog mix”). Congrats Kirstin AND Lola! UPDATE: Kirstin sent us a photo of Lola. Isn’t she a heartbreaker?

Lesli Devito Giveaway Winner Lola

Somebody turned six last week around here. And his name rhymes with Schmurger (video evidence to come on Young House Life – we just have to upload it). Anyway, in honor of that exciting canine milestone, we’re hosting an exciting canine giveaway, courtesy of our good friend (and fellow Virginian) Lesli Devito. She’s got an incredible knack for turning a photo of your pet into a brightly colored, cheerful piece of artwork that’ll wake up any wall. So start digging out that perfect snapshot of your pup (or kitty or whatever else) and hunting for the perfect spot for that 20 x 20″ custom painting that just may be coming your way!

  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT MY PET!” and tell us…

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 3rd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada
  • DISCOUNT: 15% off any order when you mention YHL with your order (through October 15th)

“Paint My Pet” We do not own a pet, but my daughter (age 5) is so in love with my mother in laws cat…Red Man. She wants to see and play with the cat every chance she gets. Would love to have a picture of “Red Man” for her new big girl room we’re working on.

PAINT MY PET! I’d love to have my 8-year-old Pit Bull/Boxer/maybe American Bulldog? mix painted because he’s a super-special furball! After spending 2 years at the shelter, he’s still one of the most lovable animals I’ve ever met. He licks tears away, can’t get close enough for cuddles, and runs laps around the living room whenever I arrive home! :)

We have 2 cats and 2 dogs so it would be hard to choose…But I’d probably go with the dog I got first. He’s a momma’s boy. PS- I first saw Lesli’s paintings in a local restaurant in Charlottesville, VA; she’s awesome! Her cow paintings have to be my favorites.

I adopted my first dog Maxwell three years ago, and I’m not sure how I survived the first 26 years of my life without him! He is the perfect dog for me! He’s calm and low-key but still loves to play, and he cuddles with me all the time.

    PAINT MY PET!
My Beam passed away this past April, after a long fight with cancer. It was an aggressive kind and nobody expected him to live 9 month after the diagnosis, he was a real trooper. He was my first dog though I wanted to have a dog as long as l remember, just did not happen for various reasons that are too much to explain. He was a part of me, I cannot describe it in any other way, he was with us, with my family for 9 years and almost 10 month without 3 days, hiking, traveling, moving; our daughter grew up with him. He was an Airedale, I still cannot see another Airedale without crying.

    PAINT MY PET!!

I would want all of my pets painted (two cats, one dog), all because of their own little quirk but in this case I think I would get my dog, Pesky, painted because of all of our pets, he had the hardest life before coming to live with us. All of our pets are rescues but he was older when we rescued him and his old owners were not overly nice to him. For that reason his new, fun loving, personality would need to be captured in paint.

We have the best three legged little mini Pom named Mitzi. You would think with her disability she would be all sad, but quite the opposite. She is our blessed little bundle of joy that hops around with the big dogs like there is no tomorrow. Really makes us smile we saved her and she really saved us. She is a blessing in butter ball form. We would love to have her in our hearts and memories forever, especially in a portrait like this. They really say a picture is forever!! :)
