My favorite artwork is not technically one-of-a-kind, but its subject is! It’s an adorable photo of my niece, hamming it up for the camera in a floppy hat and missing her two front teeth. It always makes me smile.

    “PAINT ME A PICTURE!”

My current favorite is one I did this year of a night time landscape- I just felt like painting and hadn’t done so in at least 5 or so years. Surprisingly, I really like how it turned out and I usually hate my own work! My other fav is my little boy’s 10 foot tall volcano painting. It makes me smile every time. I hope I win ;)

my favorite piece of art is something i did for a college drawing class – it’s a triptych of embroidered portraits, approximately 24×36 on linen fabric in cream and tan, and they’re backlit by lights. i need to re-mount the portraits, because i was in a hurry to make the deadline for the project and was a little sloppy. but yeah, the portraits are of me, my husband and my daughter, and i am so dang proud of them.

Thinking about it, I have just realized that there’s not one piece of art displayed in my house! Craft-art-stuff, yes, but no paintings/ drawings at all!? Must remedy that situation.
The one piece of art I love belongs to my grandparents; it’s a still life in oil that a family friend painted for them as a wedding gift.

Our favorite one of a kind artwork was inspired by your post about Jen Woodhouse in August. The inspiration was her City Chic Artwork – three self-created prints that list street names and landmarks of special cities in a creative way. As a wedding gift to my new husband, I used the same idea and listed special dates, places or phrases that have special meaning to us. It is the center piece on one wall (in the same 11.75″ x 36″ frames that Jen used). We plan to surround it with four 16″ x 20″ frames that include our self-written vows in two and two wedding portraits. The perfect above-the-bed piece!

I have been carrying an acrylic on canvas painting with me since high school and it’s one I painted. I have a love/hate relationship with it – it’s bright and colorful, but my techniques are sub-par. I’m tired of looking at it… However, I’m proud to have painted SOMETHING so I keep moving it with me and putting it up in every new home of mine.

They were very creative and photographed various household items for each letter. (used a garden hose to create an E). It’s so sentimental and they spent so much time creating it. We love it!
