My favorite piece of art is when I gave my 3 (then) little kids three different water colors, a paintbrush and some watercolor paper. I had it framed in one of those frames with 3 mat openings. I smile everytime I see it because it’s a tiny snapshot of their development at the time.

I picked up this little drawing in an art shop in NC. The art is done by a child and there’s a little story told by his father about peeking in on his sleeping children and all being right with the world. Makes me tear up and think about my baby boys every time I read it.

I love the painting by Erica Eriksdotter. It reminds me of Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night.
My wife and I were in Florence and came across an artist who painted the door of the supplicant. We had it framed here and it hangs in our living room. Every time I look at the painting, I’m reminded of Bev’s 50th birthday celebration in Italy.

My favorite artwork I own is the comics that my husband has been drawing for me since we started dating. Sometimes they are on scraps of paper, sometimes they’re on the computer (Microsoft Paint), and sometimes he surprises me by drawing me one on the white board hanging in our kitchen. The ones I can’t keep forever, I take photos of, and I’m planning to scrapbook them.
I’d love to win this as we are settling on our first home in just a few weeks! It would be such a great way to start decorating.

I recently made some framed “art” that was cut up portions of our handmade curtains in the shape of flowers. Kind of hard to explain, but I thought it was really cool because now we can take our first home “project” with us anywhere we go!
Kel says
Paint me a Picture! The only piece of original art that I have is a nighttime beach scene fingerpainted on a ceramic tile by an artist in Mexico. I bought it for like $10 while I was there and had to put it in a “to go” styrofoam box to protect it in my suitcase. It was still wet when I purchased it.
If I just so happen to win this i’m in the market for a piece for the wall above my bed.
Thanks!

My sis-in-law does beautiful paintings, and she did a rendition of Stephen Huneck’s “Devotion” with our dogs in it, and “Winter” with our cats.
The colors don’t match a darn thing in our house, but we don’t care and hang them over the dogs’ bed.

My favorite piece of art is a canvas we got at a Blue Man Group performance that they “made” on stage by spewing neon green, yellow and red paint out of their mouths in a spiral pattern… They’re not necessarily my favorite colors, but the story behind it is pretty funny (though a bit bizarre).

My favorite artwork came from my bro-in-law’s friend (a carpet salesman) who painted in his spare time. His wife HATED the artwork (made him keep them at work)so he gave them away (each person in our family has one). The big piece of art hangs proudly in our entryway:)
