Fab Freebie: Paint Me A Picture

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

The winner of this week’s giveaway can literally make that request. Because Swedish-born Virginia-based artist Erica Eriksdotter is giving away a commissioned painting worth up to $350. That’s right everyone, put on your fancy pants because soon you could be telling your friends smugly “oh yeah, that beautiful painting over there? I commissioned it.”

Eriksdotter Grey Petals

We really like the color in all of Erica’s work, and we love that our winner will be able to guide the color and design of their custom work to fit their home perfectly. You can even pick the best size for your space (from a 12 x 9″ up to 16 x 20″). Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A commissioned painting from Studio Eriksdotter worth up to $350
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT ME A PICTURE!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about your favorite piece of one-of-a-kind artwork that you currently own. Maybe it’s a finger painting done by a kid in your life? Something you got on etsy? Or a drawing that you sketched yourself to fill some blank space?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States, Canada and Europe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off of anything from Studio Eriksdotter through Dec 9th. Use the code YOUNGHOUSELOVE for any stationery purchase in her Etsy shop or you can contact her directly for art inquiries.

And our very lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Ali Moore. Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Studio Eriksdotter.

Wow, what an amazing prize. I guess the only custom art that I have in my home is my son’s drawings. I do love some of them and have them framed, but something like this would be amazing.

My favorite piece of art is a batik print that I bought with first paycheck from working as an icecream scooper in highschool. My mom had it framed for me as a high school grad present. I still have it and still love it.

Our favorite and only semi-artwork we have is our wedding guest book. All of our guests “leaf’d their thumbprint” on a tree and signed their name next to it. I was so happy with how it turned out. However, I would LOVE to fill our new house and barren walls with a beautiful piece of real art!!

My favorite piece of art is a birthday cake that a client of mine with Down Syndrome did. Birthday cakes with lots of candles and turkeys were his signature pieces. Each one was signed BCUE (his version of Bruce).

My favorite piece of art in my house is a large Picasso portrait (a copy of course) framed in a dark turquoise frame- it’s a B&W sketch of a women’s profile. I found it at Goodwill years ago and still get compliments on it!

My favourite piece of art is a drawing a good friend gave my husband and I for our wedding. The drawing is of the two of us in our wedding attire with our wedding colours in the background. It’s so personal and such a fun piece to hang on our wall and personalize our space.

    PAINT ME A PICTURE!!!!

My most prized piece of art is a painting that my husband comissioned for our engagement. It is a painting of him kneeling and proposing to me. It was set up in the ballroom where he proposed, and when we walked in it was in the middle of the room and he did just what the painting depicted! In the painting I am wearing the very outfit I had on at the time. He did an incredible job setting it up! And the artist did amazing!

My favorite piece of art in my home is a picture my now-husband drew me when we first started dating. It looks like a child drew it, but it is so sweet. I framed it and gave it to him as a wedding gift 5 years later – he figured I had thrown it away.
