***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

The winner of this week’s giveaway can literally make that request. Because Swedish-born Virginia-based artist Erica Eriksdotter is giving away a commissioned painting worth up to $350. That’s right everyone, put on your fancy pants because soon you could be telling your friends smugly “oh yeah, that beautiful painting over there? I commissioned it.”

Eriksdotter Grey Petals

We really like the color in all of Erica’s work, and we love that our winner will be able to guide the color and design of their custom work to fit their home perfectly. You can even pick the best size for your space (from a 12 x 9″ up to 16 x 20″). Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A commissioned painting from Studio Eriksdotter worth up to $350
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT ME A PICTURE!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about your favorite piece of one-of-a-kind artwork that you currently own. Maybe it’s a finger painting done by a kid in your life? Something you got on etsy? Or a drawing that you sketched yourself to fill some blank space?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States, Canada and Europe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off of anything from Studio Eriksdotter through Dec 9th. Use the code YOUNGHOUSELOVE for any stationery purchase in her Etsy shop or you can contact her directly for art inquiries.

And our very lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Ali Moore. Congrats!

My favorite piece of art is the Lego mosaic my husband made for me last Christmas. It combines his love of Lego and my obsession with Wonder Woman. It took him six months and it was a complete surprise.

    Paint Me A Picture!

My favourite piece of art in my home is a picture that 4 of my Mom’s friends had painted for me as a wedding gift. I’m a med student, and it’s a painting of a doctor taking care of a young patient. It’s cheerful and bright and I will hang it in my office someday – when I finally finish training and HAVE an office! :)

Still in school so I can’t buy much art right now. I’d love to win this prize to add some much needed colour to my place!

My favorite picture at the moment is a fun oil painting of a NYC street view, but I’m always on the lookout for more. It’s something that I have wanted to start collecting.

We have a fun new place near me called Painting With a Twist. I’m itching to get over there and paint my own masterpiece.

    PAINT ME A PICTURE!

My little one is just 9 months old so she’s not an artist YET but as soon as she draws/paints/artfully drools on a piece of paper, I’ll hang it up. For now, my favorite one-of-a-kind piece of art in our house is the painting I did my senior year of college. Our project in art class was to cut out a 1″x 1″ square out of a magazine and “blow it up” on a larger canvas using acrylic paint. Mine is red, with a part of a dining room chair, a coconut, and a part of a yellow napkin. It’s funky, it’s bizarre, but I love it.
